A booze hounds delight, this place is stocked to the hilt with varieties of real ales, beers and ciders as well as a very good selection of wines. People underestimate the power and greatness of a good booze shop, after all you forget so quickly the range of stuff out there if you don’t see it. This place will get your mouth watering and your thirst quenched before you can’t say anything because you have had too many. Notable for the epic range of bottle beers, ales and ciders.

A few doors down from St Aubyns Newsagents, Mulhollands Off License is probably one of the best places to pick up a bottle in Hove. The wine section isn’t as strong as Waitrose but there’s a good mix of red, white and sparkling at different price points. There’s also every kind of spirit you could want from vodka, gin and whisky to bourbon and pimms. The shop’s real strength however, is the selection of bottled beer, ales and ciders including some from local and regional breweries. According to the sign outside, Mulhollands deliver for free locally and rent wine, beer and champagne glasses for parties.

There aren’t really too many things that can be said about an off licence, they sell a limited selection at the best of times. Mulholland’s deserves special mention though because of the brilliant selection of British ale’s on offer. They stock everything that could hope for, going from the local brewers of Arundel and Harvey’s, as well as more national favourites like Bishop’s finger and Tanglefoot. Better than the selection in nearby Tesco, or just about anywhere I can think of.

Perhaps the unique selling point of Mulholland’s Off License is their surprisingly large selection of miniatures, ranging from tequila to single-malt whiskies and beyond. Situated near the big Tescos in Hove it’s the perfect place for anyone in the vicinity who wants to find some real bargains. They offer a range of discounts on lager and wine and the lady behind the counter is always friendly.

Mulholland’s in Hove is a nice little off licence selling all the usual stuff. They have a number of good deals on lager and wine, which should temp you to avoid Tescos’ booze isle. The lady who works behind the counter is always happy to engage in some polite banter but knows when to stay quite in case you need to slip in and out with no fuss. This Mulholland’s has a particularly large selection of miniatures, which could well be the reason it managed to stay open while Threshers went into administration. There isn’t much else you need to know. If it’s cheap booze you want, cheap booze is what you’ll get.
