The fruit and veg selection in this store is better than the offerings of the nearby Co-Ops. However, I think they bump the prices up for these mini-supermarkets and I always seemed to spend a fortune whenever I popped here whilst living in the area. It’s also a petrol station so it’s often busy. Though it can be handy as there’s a cash point, and it’s near Dyke Road Park if you need a sandwich or something whilst hanging out in the park.

This branch of Tesco is basically a glorified petrol station with a Tesco Express attached. It’s open early til late but for some reason, whenever you go there seems to be a queue of five or six people infront, sometimes more. There’s also a security guard on the door that looks permanently bored and staff that look like they’d be more fulfilled working as prison guards. If you’ve got the munchies though, they’ll have everything you could want — from frozen pizzas, burgers and ice-cream to nachos, crisps, chocolate, beer and some fresh fruit and veggies. They already have Christmas tins of Quality Street in too for around £5.99!

Don’t make the mistake of thinking you can pop in this Tescos quickly to buy something. You can’t. Be prepared to spend hours waiting to park and then — when you do finally get in — hours queuing to pay. It amazes me how many people chose to go there on a Sunday evening and do a full family shop when I just want a newspaper !!

Podrás encontrar muchos alimentos a buen precio.

A small but useful branch of Tesco Express, or should that be petrol station with small store attached? Most people come here to buy petrol(as do I) as it’s cheaper than most places around here. Dyke Road is one of the main arteries into Brighton from the A27 and leads straight into the centre. The shop is great for essentials, but the range is inevitably limited. The filling station side is a franchise, so you can’t use your Tesco Clubcard when you petrol. The shop is often busy with both shoppers and people buying petrol, and the queues are a nuisance is your car /bike is sitting at the pump while you are in a queue.(There’s not much room to pull forward to let others in behind). One big bonus is that it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The store has toilets with baby changing facilities, a cash-point and level access. The main downside is that the forecourt is way too small given how popular it is, so people often queue back down the road. It’s also on a busy junction with traffic lights, so getting in and out is a bit of a pain(getting out to turn right back into Brighton can be a nightmare).
