Touch Of India

Well, I have never given a restaurant review before, and my partner in crime and I have been regularly frequenting Indian restaurants, ordering the same thing every time (chicken jalfrezi ‘vindaloo strength’) and giving marks out of 10 for quite a few years now. Nowhere has met the standards of one we went to in Amsterdam and another in Malaysia (oh it was so tacky it was love at first sight!) until, to my surprise, THIS one. When we first went inside I found a little too modern for my liking. I’m a great lover of shag pile carpets and 70s style tackiness (to quote my partner last night some people don’t like that kind of thing — they associate it with the kind of place their parents like to eat, but it’s a big draw for me), but OH MY GOODNESS I STILL GIVE THIS PLACE 10 OUT OF 10! Service is amazing waiters are a joy and even the chef came to ask how our food was and the food was DIVINE. They even go the extra mile in the ladies loos, leaving in there boxes of tampons in every size you could want this IS a relevant point to mention this as it shows the extra mile they go for their customers. If you are reading this you REALLY need to visit this place. It is a jewel amongst Indian restaurants and you will not leave disappointed.

This is the best Indian takeaway food I’ve eaten in 18 years of sampling Indian establishments. The vegetarian curries I’ve had so far Madras and Pathia had plenty of interesting vegetables and a lovely sauce. I never suffered from that heavy, bloated feeling normally experienced when eating curry. The sag paneer is excellent, as is the pilau rice and onion bhajees. Other people in the area, who eat meat, also recommend a Touch of India.
The staff are polite and professional. They deliver meals locally.
Please visit this restaurant for a meal. You won’t be disappointed. The location, quite far down Boundary Road means that it doesn’t get many customers SO KEEP THIS PLACE IN BUSINESS and make it your first choice for Indian food! It’s a hidden gem!
