Lovely food absolutely delicious. Just a little pricey so doesn’t compete with other local takeaways on price I’m afraid afterall there is a credit cruch on! Taste does not compare to the other local takeaways so occasionally for a special treat or special occasion I would definately reccommend!

I have been using this restaurant for about 8 years and have never had a bad meal, and at one time we met up there with friends once a week, so you can imagine that is saying something. Their meals are good quality, healthy, and their portions are generous their prices are more than reasonable. The staff are helpful, polite and friendly.

Been here several times and found the staff friendly and helpful. Food is fair if not always the most subtle in Huddersfield and the surrounding area but staff are famously friendly and the place is clean and tidy, if not the last word in modern décor. Clinging shards of chilli give the chicken tikka a bracing note while the vegetable balti would benefit from longer cooking of the onions. So safe rather than exciting.

As a bit of an Indian curry snob — I’d neglected the Monsoon after being served a rather lacklustre and salty Saag Aloo some years back. My GF and I ended up going there recently though — when we found ourselves stuck in Slawit with the chip shop closed It’s far better than I remembered. My other half had a prawn byriani that came with a full omelette on top, along with a side of proper veg curry. I had a veg karahi, chana daal and a roti. There was more than enough for both of us — and the food was of a high standard. We both agreed that the meal was much better than one that we’d had the month before at Laxmi in Armitage Bridge — an Indian that locals usually rave about, but that we found a bit pretentious. The Monsoon is slightly pricey for a standard Indian, but the atmosphere’s pleasant, the staff very attentive and polite and the food’s pretty good too.
