Sleepers is an independent bar located underneath the Huddersfield Railway arches, it tends to attract the post finished work folk, and is a good place to spend a couple of hours after the working day is done, due to it’s intimate style, friendly bar staff, leather sofas and stools, combination of low tables and normal tables, local art work on the walls and general location just out of the main strip of bars as to not attract any loud and obnoxious folk. The music in here is low key funky jazz, rather mellow, nice and easy to listen to without being obtrusive. The venue is available for hire of private functions, when working in Huddersfield it was regularly hired for the purpose of leaving do’s, and the food laid on by Sleepers was really rather nice, tasty, and at a good price too. Serving a solid range of wines, beers and spirits, friendly relaxed yet a bit on the classy side, it’s a great place to visit, and even step into before trying out one of the local restaurants. Check out the website for live music venues, although Sleepers is a bit on the small side, it says it holds up to 100 but I would say that would be a tight squeeze, plus a band, it can get loud.
