This place is really not bad at all. The facilities are good and whilst it was busy you really didn’t struggle with getting the use out of anything you wanted to. The girls at the reception desk seem to be very well practised at managing a busy influx of people. You don’t actually book the time for your treatment until you arrive which on thinking is a very good idea as it also allows you to add to your treatments should you wish. We stayed overnight here in one of the apartments and had our lunch and evening meal included in the offer that we booked as well as a massage and the mud chamber. Food — truly excellent. Especially the evening meal and they were good at accommodating if there was something you didn’t like on your plate. Service — good at the reception, restaurant and spa. Not excellent but good. Facilities — 4⁄5 and there seemed to be plenty to go around. The swimming pool was large and a lovely temperature. It was also open from 7am which Is great if you like a morning swim. The heat experience area is large and has lots of different experiences to try. Plenty of changing facilities. Towels everywhere. Robes acceptable everywhere which is fab. Showers have shampoo and conditioner and hair dryers are provided. Spa treatments — good. I would say 4⁄5 again. The therapist I had was ok but she didn’t seem as confident and competent as other therapists I’ve had before. My friend said exactly the same when she came out of her treatment. Apartment — the apartments are lovely. Well proportioned and split over a mezzanine with the bedroom up top. While I was impressed with it and the balcony outside overlooking the river my friend and I hardly slept a wink! It was ROASTING! Like you felt you were sleeping in a desert. They provide a fan which does hee haw to be honest so it put a dampener on the whole experience. Would I come back here? Yes definitely. I would also recommend you try it to.

My Dad, under my supervision, bought my mum and ‘a friend’ a spa day. Naturally I took the opportunity to try this out. The spa is in an old mill, with many apartments. I didnt stay but well worth it if you get a good offer. The spa itself was very nice, lots of different steam & sauna rooms. Access to a large swimming pool & relaxation room. The food was good and the setting very relaxing. All round good buy if you can take advantage of one of their deals. I did feel that it could get a bit overcrowded. As they run so many promotions there are peak times during the day when you feel there are alot of people milling around. They have a wide variety of treatments, some are quite pricy but quality and expertise is high. If you want to treat yourself or a friend/family member definately worth checking out.

Titanic Spa is a relatively new leisure centre, located about an hour from Manchester, just outside Huddersfield. It occupies about half of an old converted mill, the other half of which is split between apartments and a site still awaiting development. The surrounding area is nice enough for a country walk, though not beautiful. Once inside the spa though, you certainly wont be leaving until you have to. An overnight stay at the Spa begins with a cup of coffee in the reception once you’ve changed into the luxury dressing gown that you wont be taking off all day. You then receive a quick tour of the Spa before you’re left to relax in its tranquillity. The main Spa area features several varieties of Sauna and Steam Rooms, including a mixture of the two, as well as an aromatherapy room and an ice room. There’s also a row of Jacuzzi footbaths with luxury shampoos and bubble bath to try. Finally, there’s an ice pool and a bucket of ice water attached to the ceiling that you can drop over your head(its well nice!). Apart from the main spa, there’s also the swimming pool room, which contains yet another sauna and steam room(these ones much hotter). Though they don’t actually have a Jacuzzi, a part of the pool is filled with bubbles that you can operate with a button on the side. My favourite part of the spa experience has to be the relaxation room. It’s a large space full of beanbags and comfortable chairs, sofas and beds for all your lounging needs. Its heated and has a video of a fire playing on a flat screen and an ice-cold water machine. The rooms themselves are amazing. They have two floors, with the bedroom at the top overlooking the lounge and kitchen. You could easily stay for a long time as the kitchen has all the required facilities including an oven, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There’s a beautiful glass topped breakfast table, perfect for a champagne breakfast and croissants, cereals, jams and juice are provided. The overnight stay includes lunch and dinner as well, and whilst neither was particularly special, there were no complaints. The bar/restaurant area also stocks some nice beers and reasonably priced sparkling wines and champagnes. Everyone disappears after dinner but you can take a bottle back to your room. All this was around £135 for two of us because we got a buy one get one free from . However, when we got there we realized there are often deals available direct from the spa, so its quiet reasonable at all times. I thoroughly recommend a visit.
