Friendly service in a quiet pub, although I’m sure it gets busy, we visited in January, a real old building rather than a theme pub, huge beams holding the upstairs above you, full of nooks and crannies, a big selection of hot drinks, real log burners, tv on the sports channel keeping a couple of friendly locals happy. Nothing to dislike here on a bright and cold January afternoon.
The rear of the pub had dining and outside space, although the kitchens seemed closed for winter, there was plenty of tables for diners inside too, again all at the rear.
