Wow. If I had the opportunity to open up my own boutique I believe it would look something a little like this. Let’s start with the décor. On some areas of wall there was the most exquisite velvet embossed wall paper, an ivory base with fuschia victorian style silhouettes embossed over the top. There were areas of wall which were literally vintage collages, with brooches, buttons, writing, newspaper and all sorts cut and pasted over the wall paper. It was a delight to look at the walls, let alone the stock! The stock too was utter finery. A beautiful mix of designer outlet gear, obviously chosen particularly to match the style of the shop, and some of their own label garments. Think classy, vintage styled items that hint of another era, but remain contemporary enough not to make too much of a statement. I know at times I like to be very obviously dressed up in my 40s get up, but there are times when a subtler sense of style is in order. For that I would shop here. Everything, from to the lovely lady at the desk, down to the independent maker’s(Lauren Alice) basket of woolen brooches and earrings, was a delight to browse. Not content with providing gorgeous clothing, you can also purchase yourself some homewares, such as cosy ‘home’ blankets, candles and even a 60s errol sideboard for £250. I found an exquisite pair of deep maroon tights for £3.50 marked down from £7. Beautiful! I highly recommend this lovely little shop.
