The Galley

Went in for dinner on a monday evening before heading off to the cinema. The restaurant was quiet, with only three other tables in with us whilst we were there. Service was prompt, courteous and attentive. I had Scallops followed by steak, whilst my girlfriend had a chicken starter and the steak again. Food was excellent, perfectly cooked and well presented. Sadly, the first wine I chose was out of stock (Sancerre), but the Chablis (with starters) and the Fleurie (with steak) were available, and quite good. We were seated by the kitchen, and it was rather warm, but frequnet «smoke» breaks outside made up for this! All in all it was very good, and one of the better resteraunts in the town, but also fairly expensive. Reccomended.

Very pretty restaurant in the centre of Ipswich with a great garden and good food. Super service and a very good menu.
Very busy, especially at weekends with a mainly 30ish crowd.
Food prepared within view of diners, nothing to hide and beautifully done with some unusual dishes
