I visited here on a late Sunday afternoon to meet some friends. Part of the interior is dated(carpet in a pub?) but the seats were comfortable and there was more than enough room around the table for all of us. The food was nice, but not spectacular — I was given a pale-looking baguette with a rather mediocre salad(although I’m not sure one leaf and a slice of cucumber counts). The chocolate fudge cake I had was fantastic, however, and I count myself as a good judge on those. The atmosphere was friendly, and it was in a good location, being near the station. The service was also good, and I would recommend their cocktails and mocktails.

Located right on Rainham High Street you really cannot miss this place… Either because it’s conveniently located right slap bang in the middle of Rainham or just because on a busy weekend or even warm summer evening it’s front garden is packed with trashy skimpily clad screaming women and sleazy desperates. I really want to like this place but it just isn’t possible. Mainly because they’re trying so desperately to be a slightly classier ‘bar’ by adding a late license and angry looking bouncers on the busier evenings of the week to attract a more upper class clientele It just fails and does the complete opposite. They serve food here from 11 – 9 which is typical ‘pub food’ and prices start at £3.99(£5.49 for roast on Sunday) but be warned — if you decide to go in for some lunch do not wear tracksuit bottoms! My husband and his friend got turned away for wearing plain bottoms at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon for crying out loud! Of all the trash they let in at the weekend and baseball cap wearing crazies on a Saturday evening my husband(who was working from home and on his lunch break) get’s turned away for this, it’s ridiculous. They also apparently have 5TV’s but of my visits here I don’t ever recall seeing them. Maybe they’re tucked away somewhere or only get turned on when a big game is on. They like to think they’re family friendly too but eh. I don’t know, case of wanting the best of both worlds? I rarely see any kids here unless it’s the ones screaming in buggies when they’re oh so responsible parents get wasted. I guess it’s a good place to go if you’re local and want some average food and drink for a reasonable price. Parking located around the back.

This pub has just been refurbished and I must say looks amazing, funky, relaxing. The pub is lovely and always has a nice atmosphere you have decking outside the bottom part is sheltered for non smokers and the top for smokers. Inside you can sit in booths or in cosy chairs or at the bar. They have a brilliant selection of bar food and special dishes of their own such as bangers and mash where you pick what flavour sausage and gravy All you have to do is go it really does speak for itslef
