Very nice dinner and ambience. Food is made to order, so, it takes some time but is worth the wait.

Having heard good things about this pub & read the reviews also, decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed at all. The staff, the beer & more importantly the food was very good. Lovely cosy atmosphere with a real fire to warm the place up. Comfortably busy throughout the evening, we pre booked a table but could have eaten in the bar which is basically an extension of the restaurant area. Certainly worth the short walk out of the town where it can be very busy & difficult to get a table to eat on a Saturday night. Prices are Lakeland average. There is free WI-FI, on street parking & a beer garden. Would recommend & would use again.

Brilliant food great value and lovely real ale though practically all Jennings thankfully very few other Banks’s ales opps sorry Marstons beers available. I found the service tobe excellant. I would describe it as a pub restuarant. Its very popular and unless you get there by half five you will struggle to get a table unless you prebook in the resturant. Its a magnet to both lovals and visitors in the know. Interior very rural with open fires very comfortable.

I had checked out the other reviews before my visit to Keswick and decided this was a good option for lunch. I had a walk through the park and ended up on this pub, s doorstep which was handy. The bar serves food until 2pm for lunch and as I had a rather large cooked breakfast at my hotel I was not too hungry so I opted for the sandwiches and chips(or soup) option. I had the home cooked ham and my partner had the roast beef. Both were excellent and I would have happily had dinner here if I was in the area at the time as the menu looked delictable.

A very traditional upmarket country pub and hotel which has been there for over 50 years. The views are beautiful and the interior is extremely cosy but refined. They have a very high class of clientelle which you get the feeling have been visiting for years. There is always Jags and the like in the carpark. It’s a little gem and you have to know about it to go there. The food is lovely, and its good just to pop in for lunch. The soup is always good as our the other lunchtime snacks such as the potted shrimps. Staff are attentive and helpful. There is a good choice of drinks and prices are very reasonable. Worth popping in if you’re in the area.
