A large grand country house with guided tours. There are several variants of tour. We took a full one and although good I felt there was too much detail of family history that listeners would never remember. The café was good. There is a lot to see here and you really need to get there early to see it all.

First impressions; Very beautiful, surrounded by stunning scenery, and plenty of sheep too ;) Various events are held here through out the year: During December you can pick your OWN Christmas tree at a very reasonable price, and stock up on Christmas decs too. During the Summer the play park is often open, which is most certainly a grand day out for the kiddies. There is also a shop on the grounds were you can buy treats and confectionery etc. Various other events are held here throught the year too so it’s worth checking out their website. Boughton House is also very popular destination for school trips. Working in the heart of nature, what more could you want?

It was once known as the English Versailles. This grand building is the Northamptonshire home of the Dukes of Buccleuch and Queensberry. The French-style north front of the house, entrance hall and state rooms were built in the 1690s. Inside is a rich collection of paintings, furniture, tapestries, needlework, porcelain and silver. One room has 37 Van Dykes! The house is only open to the public for one month each year.
