I have never found Giuliano to be rude and have eaten at his little Kingston deli a few times, when I have had lunch with a friend. However he is Italian Anyway although the food has always been delicious, and I have never been turned away for just having a coffee instead of a meal as per the previous review, I must say I find the deli a little expensive, around £9.00+ for a portion of pasta plus a drink, we usually end up paying around £15 each for a one course lunch. I am interested to see whether his new large restaurant inside the Arcade next door takes off. It seems a little tucked away, there is nothing to see out of the window(I like to people watch) and it is very expensive, a piece of cake is almost £5.00. I haven’t eaten there yet, it doesn’t seem to have any Wow fact possibly because of where it is situated although Giuliano has obviously spent a lot of money on it. Time will tell. On saying that, I will definitely go back for my lunch time pasta at the original shop !

Giuliano’s a nice, quaint little deli in Kingston, staffed by friendly waiters. The food is above average, but what really got me about this place was the fact that we came here when the place was full, and were told that we would only have to wait ‘a few’ minutes for a table. A table became free only after about 15 minutes. Had I known that the wait was that long, I would have gone off to a different restaurant, as all of us were on our lunch hour and couldn’t go for that long a lunch. Also, my choice of wild boar gnocchi tasted nice, but there wasn’t very much meat there at all. In fact, I think there was more pepper than meat in the dish! It still tasted nice, but… yeah.

Nice diner in Kingston. Friendly staff and authentic italian food. Just about everything on the menu is good(I haven’t had the squid ink risotto yet). My favorite is the Aubergine Lasagna. I try something different every time and haven’t been disappointed. good place to practice my italian coz all the staff are fluent. The seating is a little cramped inside and they also have 2 tables in the alley, but food is too good to worry about that.

I went into Giuliano for lunch recently with three other friends. The place looked decent from the outside and people seemed to be enjoying their food. When the waiter came over to order, we ordered two main courses and four drinks, as two of us were not eating. The waiter then came back and told us that as we weren’t all eating, his boss said we couldn’t stay. We either had to all order some food, or leave. I felt sorry for the waiter as he was pretty embarassed, but the boss has to be a) one of rudest proprietors I have come across and b) one of the least business savvy people around. Firstly, when we left he refused to acknowledge us or offer any apologies. The poor waiter was apologising, but I do not blame him. Secondly, between the four of us we would have spent approx. £30. However, if we had only ordered a slice of cake and a drink each, this would have been closer to £20. So on top of awfully rude service, they have angered four local Kingston residents who will not be returning to Giuliano.

Tantalisingly authentic Italian deli owned and run by a Neapolitan. The dishes in the window look so enticing, they draw the eye and whet the appetite every time you walk by. The black squid-ink pasta — served with fresh salmon or jumbo prawns — is especially impressive. Come-in here to eat-in or to get an upmarket take-out; just for a snack — a slice of traditional panettone for example — or for a more filling, flavour-packed meal. If you want to serve an Italian-inspired feast at home, or to celebrate a special occasion or event, it’s worth checking-out their mouthwatering catering menu.
