A lovely park with formal gardens, just on the outskirts of Largs. There are beautiful flower beds in season, a pavilion, an outdoor bowling green, tennis courts, a nursery(for children) and a pleasant pathway through an avenue of mature trees. I enjoyed having a stroll around here today for the first time in a couple of years. At the very top part of the park you can turn right and walk along to the Neolithic Tomb(see my older review: ‘Haylie Chambered Tomb’). From here you can also continue to the top of Castle Hill(550 ft above sea level) where there are marvellous views(but it is quite a strenuous climb!) There are a couple of entrances into the park through wrought iron gates beside the main road to Largs(the A78/Irvine Road)
