Fat Birds Cafe

I have been to this delightful café a couple of times now and always find the service to be excellent.
A friendly waitress met us as soon as we stepped through the door and despite it being super busy downstairs, there is a second level with more seating. We were shown upstairs and decided to make ourselves comfortable on the leather sofas.
I feel the breakfasts are the cafes speciality and they offer an extensive range of food options including vegetarian meals which is always a plus.
We ordered a couple of hot beverages and then some breakfast. I opted for the sausage sandwich with brown bread, which was really good. The only downside is that the sausages were not cut in half and were left whole inside the sarnie — yes call me fussy but that’s not how a sausage sarn should be! And I’ve had plenty of em’!
We were never felt rushed despite us taking our time and chatting for a while. You can then pay at the till before you leave.
This place must be a gold mine as it is always busy, a testament to how good they are.

Yummy. Stopped for a full-​breakfast but ended up having a tasty lunch of camembert, bread and a great ginger beer. The ambiance is nice for lunch with people coming and going and plenty of places to sit.

It always seems a bit chaotic in Fat Birds because it’s always so busy! This is a good indication of how good the food is and, although the service can be a bit slow the food is worth the wait.

Fat Birds is a bustling ‘tea rooms’ style coffee shop (if that isn’t a contradiction in terms) that does the usual range of tea/​coffee/​capuccino/​latte very well, but also has a surprisingly good lunch menu
