A real community venue. A healthy social option. Want to feel good? Have a dip in this light and airy, beautiful pool. There’s a community fun day on Sunday 30th June which I imagine will be great fun, especially for children.

We used to be royally spoiled for swimming in Leeds. Those days have long gone and the International Bath fell into a state that couldn’t be rescued and alas it went from our lives. Luckily, you’ve still got a fair few options that don’t include just private gyms at your disposal. One being Bramley Baths. Now public baths do usually feel me with fear but not here. It’s a nice venue, clean, tidy and very pleasant to woke away the tensions of the day in. What’s more they got a steam room. Result! My advice is to avoid anytime’s when a gaggle of kids will be about. Easier said than done but they do offer lane swimming sessions, women only sessions and various options that mean you’re more likely to get a good swim in rather than fight against a child induced tidal wave. Good work Leeds city council, I’m liking your style.

Pretty basic swimming pool built originally in Victorian times if I’m not mistaken. Really good for an evening swim — never overly busy and even has a spa pool at the end of main pool which is quite relaxing! Last time I went it was around £3 for an evening swim which is definitely worth it. Recommended if you live in the Bramley area of leeds.

The pool is small but great for taking kids to swim — esp after a muck about in the park over the road. Traditional victorian/edwardian building but charming and kept very clean. This was my local gym for a while and it’s a very friendly place, staff are great — worth taking a bodyline card for.

Bramley Baths is a beautiful victoria building with most of its original features. It has a lovely stained glass roof over the swimming pool and a jaccuzi at the end of the pool. It also has a russian sauna which has men’s ladies and mixed sessions. There’s a small but well equipped gym at Bramley Baths too and also a fitness room where you can do Yoga, Pilates, Aerobics etc. Bramley Baths is a Leeds City Council leisure centre so its only a couple of quid to swim and about £4-£5 to use the gym or do a fitness class Or you can buy a bodyline card and a monthly fee gets you unlimited use at Bramley Baths as well as all the other council leisure centres. There’s car parking next to the baths.
