Fancy fish and chips, no wait maybe a sandwich, fry up or a burger. You can get them all at this no frills caff. It’s a little bit boggling how much is on offer. It is so simple and to the point with service, seating, food and drink. A few seats so fairly easy to get a seat even at busy lunch time but not the most comfortable seating in the world and not the nicest plain white crockery. Have got to say it is very cheap and the food was filling and tasty enough so wouldn’t tell anyone not to go but likewise wouldn’t recommend it.

This street is filled with sandwich shops of every variety to cater for all your needs. This one is a sturdy little place, often busy at lunch times and will give you a simple, basic sandwich. Sometimes this is exactly what you want, plain cheddar cheese not fancy brie! And here you will get it in a large bap(that’s a floury white roll, in case you have only ever come across chiabatta).

I do love fancy breads, exotic fillings and the finest coffee known to man. What could be better? However, there is a time and place for most things in life and sometimes I just fancy some plain and simple scran or stodge. This is where Café Centro comes in. It’s a tad harsh to call it a greasy spoon but if you want a good old traditional bap then there are many places that do them a lot worse than here. Course you can get your tea and coffee fix and it’s not going to set the world on fire, but if you want the basics done well then rock on it. What’s more, it’s really near the General Infirmary so if you’ve had the misfortune of having to pay a visit, the last thing on your mind is hunting down food. You want something fast and simple, well it’s panic over then. Maybe you could also sly in the odd treat to the visitors ward, assuming hospital food hasn’t improved that much since my last sorry visit. That sex change operation was a bad idea, grabbing a quick egg butty here wasn’t.

A busy wee place but with a good amount of seating not too cramped together. If you are in need of a break from the office, have forgotten your lunch and aren’t too keen to splash out too much on some lunch Centro is a good place to come. This no frills little eatery offers a good breakfast deal, swift service and very fair prices. It is like a little up market greasy spoon given a choice away from the Greggs near by.

I like Centro which is good as I live across the road. The place is sensible, bordering on quite cheap and the food is always good. The coffee is an absolute bargain for the quality. A coffee and a latte for £2.70. Sure Greggs just down the road is cheaper but their coffee is awful! My only complaint about the place is they don’t put butter on the breakfast sandwiches and I always forget to ask for sauce. Although it is still quite nice. When I do remember to ask for sauce, their sausage and bacon butties are hard to beat.
