Marinetti served possibly the most important purpose for a young student on graduation day. It fed(and fed well), it entertained and pleased both my parents. On a day where i was trying to overlook my hangover(As well as the grade i would be receiving). On a day where my parents had driven for 6 hours to be in my company. On a day where the heavens decided to pour fourth their bounty on us. On this day of all days Marinetti did us proud. Despite obviously having a function on, and me having forgotten to book, they found us a seat at once. Far enough away from the happy crowd but not so far removed as to loose the convivial atmosphere. The wine list had my dad content and the vast array of genuine italian foods(not just a pizza list in italian but so much more) kept both of them happy. Perhaps not so important now but, it was also exceptionally affordable(for the student who wants to impress by picking up the cheque at the end). The manager looked after us incredibly well, offering advice on foods and even bringing out samples of drinks to help my dad decide on wine. It was a brilliant evening, borne out of the ashes and i’ve had a soft spot in my heart for them ever since.

I really can’t fault this little place. It’s very relaxed, don’t have to dress up and the food is freshly prepared & delicious. Went there last week(2 of us). My friend opted for Calamari & Tartare sauce for main and I had the Penne Arrabiata(a tomato pasta). Loved the food, it was delicious and arrived swifly. Having polished off with a bottle of wine between the 2 of us, we left Café Marinetti’s happy bunnies and will sure return. Nice, relaxed a good evening was had!

Good location, busy high street, lots of passing trade, sunny front terrace –shut all day. Madness. Come back at night and its full of life. Don’t stray off the path of pizza and pasta tho, after all, who can get them wrong but the specials and the fish are very hit and miss. I’d swear my italian sausage was good old Lincolnshire, and the staff obviously discussing me and my guests in Italian didn’t endear the place to us. one of us speaks it fluently, so the comments about our outfits weren’t appreciated. The resulting lack of a tip may have been the hint they neededMarinettis needs to up its game particularly when threres rumours of a HUGE express pizza chain opening right across the road.

Along the quaint little Town Street in Horsforth stands this fair restaurant, Café Marinetti. I can understand why they opted to call it ‘café’, since it has a lovely and informal vibe to it, whilst maintaining a restaurant standard. As such I imagine one could just as comfortably pop in for a coffee and a snack as book a table for a meal. The décor is very neutral and fresh, with cream walls and the occasional adornment of some art deco prints, which makes for a pleasant environment! I had come along to celebrate our friend’s birthday with family members and friends and we had secured the entire upstairs section of the venue. There was ample space for a group of around 30 – 40 so it’s certainly one to bookmark for an occasion such as this. That they had a bar upstairs also made life incredibly easy. The entirety of the staff were wonderful, both friendly and attentive, and you couldn’t ask for better service. We ordered a few starters, some olives and anti-pasti to share, and were pretty wowed. As there was an odd number of us I went for a dish of olives to myself and the dish was huge! The olives were some of the tastiest and juiciest I’ve had and it couldn’t have felt more authentic. Yum! For the main course I had a ‘picante’ pizza, which was to the layman, pepperoni. Sadly, it was a little too plain and salty for my tastes, although the dough was perfect. Given the quality of the starters I’d had high hopes, but then taking into account the number of us, it was potentially a stretch. Nonetheless, I ate the majority of it, only stopping as I was full! All in all, it’s a fantastic little place and well worth a visit, but perhaps next time I shall try the lasagna! And definitely, what ever you do, try the olives.

Pleasant, welcoming family/group friendly restaurant. The staff were polite and professional and provided the same level of service. Plain and simple, neutral décor provides a relaxing atmosphere for you to enjoy your visit. The starters I tried were excellent. Antipasto and mixed olives with sun dried tomatoes, very nice indeed. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the pizza. I went for picante(spicy sausage). It was basically pepperoni, it needed something else to distinguish it. The ingredients used made the pizza too salty and to add insult to injury the pizza dough wasn’t cooked through. I would add that this was probably due to the fact that we were in large group and it’s difficult to get food out at the same time for large groups. Overall my visit to Café Marinetti was enjoyable and I would recommend it to smaller groups…

A beautiful way to spend an evening. Had my family visit and we picked out Café Marinetti as, what we assumed to be, a small little Italian to grab a bite. We were very wrong. Once inside you notice the fresh, relaxing décor and realise that this is serious, professional and authentic Italian cuisine. One further recommendation/warning(depending on your taste for Italian) is that the food is incredibly rich. Whereas I found this beautfiul, some members of our group found it a little much for their uncultured taste buds. The price is as reasonable as food of this quality gets, though I doubt you’d really be popping along for a budget bite. Long story short, if you fancy a top-quality Italian meal outside of the city centre, head along to Café Marinetti in Horsforth. If you love Italian food in an authentic atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed.

Marinetti’s is a hidden gem on Horsforth’s Town Street. Wedged between Cards Etc. and Jade City, it is a tiny Italian hangout that I would recommend to anyone in search of a satisfying Mediterranean meal, a lunchtime snack of an authentic coffee. The interior is light and relaxed, while the service is pleasant, and despite the café’s location in a North Leeds suburb, it retains a definite Italian charm. This is probably largely due to the fact that the Pizzas and Paninis(Mozzarella and Roasted Peppers is a particular favourite of mine) are suberb, and taste as good as those cooked on the backstreets of Naples. I must close by recommending the coffee however — the traditional, authentic Italian variations served up in this place will, for real coffee lovers, wash away any gooey memories of Starbucks. Marinetti’s succeeds in executing all the traditions of Meditteranean cuisine and lifestyle, and thus lives up to its unmistakabely Italian name.
