I’m tempted to put that the D in D_Store should stand for don’t bother. For a large shop with lots and lots of space, there’s well just that, lots and lots of empty space. I saw three members of staff rearrange a sofa display and nearly have a coronary over it not being just right. From the bottom up everything is dark, dark wood, dark displays dark floors, dark. Which to me, just seems to suck everything into it. Top down is white, white ceiling, white pillars. Class, sophistication and elegance with an edge seem to be the intended connotations of D_Store. Maybe it’s just me but I found the whole store rather unremarkable, whatever looked like it was passable to wear outside was crazy expensive, which is fine, i’m an advocate of paying for quality, but this just didn’t warrant it. It also sits rather awkwardly in The Light, who’s unit counterparts include the Body Shop, Confetti, Bagel Nash and Starbucks. Meh indeed.

Now I’m not sure if I’m being bias, as my boyfriend absolutely loves everything in this shop, and insists of wondering around looking at the well-made coats and the good quality knitwear… I tend to just follow and moan about how expensive it is and end up practically weeping over a scarf, prompting me to go to the wool shop and a buy a few patterns in the desperate attempt to remake it… They stock Tiger Of Sweeden, and I’m told that’s a good thing. Whether it is or not, I doubt I’ll ever know. I can’t afford it in the slightest. C’mon, they sell leggins for £36! For those that can afford it, the staff are smiley, the desplays are easy to look around and tidy. ‘Sa nice shop!

d_store is classy, funky and yet quite eccentric. The windows are full of literature detailing a story(read it when you’re next there). The shop sells both mens and womenswear in classical styles. Smart yet sexy. Large comfy sofas, big spacious changing rooms and even a library area to sit in… relax!
