Very friendly atmosphere and staff. Although they do have an Italian menu as well as tapas be warned pasta lovers! They said it could sometimes take longer for pasta!!! Fifteen minutes later they said no pasta! 25 minutes later again our reordered food arrived. The apparent mishap earlier was made up by the quality of the food which ultimately is what matters. This restaurant gives Viva Cuba a run for its money-can’t book @ Viva not the case at Dos Amigos. Keep up the good work…

I sometimes feel a little cheated with tapas as you never really seem to get very much but I’ve been to Dos Amigos a few times now and have NEVER left disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious and whilst we always worry we haven’t ordered enough when it comes to the table I leave feeling full every time(and I can eat a lot!). Their website recommends getting around 3 dishes each(which is handy as there is a 3 for 2 offer on from 5:30−7). Two of us will usually get a pizza bread starter and 6 dishes to share(I’d get at least one carb dish or it can feel like meat overload!). The red pepper stuffed with spicy pork and the stuffed jalepinos are favourites of mine but I’m assured the wild boar with apricot is also fantastic. The menu is pretty big so there is plenty to choose from and its great for groups as you can get a good range of dishes to share between you. There is a really nice atmosphere and we have always found the staff friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend seeking this place out and enjoying a bit of Spanish tastiness!

I have very fond memories of this place. All I can say is it’s a great little restaurant to take a date on. Lovely atmosphere, Spanish décor, great food at reasonable prices. It’s a gem this place and I’m sure it doesn’t get more busy because everyone who knows about it wants to keep it a secret!

It’s easy to stick to the same good old hot spots in Leeds, once you’ve found your favourite eating place of choice. I used to head to four or five main staples depending on location, time of day and of course cuisine of fancy. Now that has gone right out of the window and thank God it has. Tucked out from the city centre(but still more than close enough) on Kirkstall Road is Dos Amigos. From the outside it doesn’t look that much, but never ever go judging that book as they say… What a little find it is as well. Spanish and Italian themed food and a tapas menu to impress. It’s great for small groups too where you can dive into an abundance of dishes covering meat, fish and vegetables. I also like to get the vegetable paella, which again they’ll do you in a handy tapas sized portion or as a main. Delicious. You’ve also got pizzas and pasta too but personally I’d always stick to the good old Spanish options and get something spicy, saucy yet simple. Relaxed and laid back atmosphere as well, just as our Spanish friends would like it. A fantastic alternative to lots of options in Leeds so just dive in and get your fingers dirty.

Move over Viva Cuba, Dos Amigos is Leeds’ Hispanic place to be. Five ’til seven every evening there’s a great value 3 for 2 offer on tapas. It’s okay to gorge on three dishes here because they WANT you to. There’s also the classic staples of Sangria, Cruzcampo and spanish music(mostly made up of Ricky Martin and Enrique Englesias, of course) to ease the food down. Great value, nice cosy atmosphere and a wide selection of tapas to choose from.

One of at least two tapas bars on the long road into Leeds city centre(the superb Viva La Cuba being the other), this ridiculously Spanish-named joint which seems to be run by Italians is an example of a good, if not great tapas restaurant On the plus side, the tapas on offer is well cooked and imaginative, and the selection is, as it should be, huge. On the… minus side, the atmosphere isn’t enjoyable — it doesn’t feel comfortable or relaxed — and the prices are pretty steep for what you get. All in all, it’s a little bit hit and miss, so I’d advise the more professional Viva La Cuba further down the road.

I live on De Lacy Mount so going to Dos Amigos is almost as close as going into my own kitchen, except that the food is way better. After an afternoon of beers in the sun on the grass opposite the Abbey, we came here for some of the happy hour tapas(3 dishes for the price of 2 between 5.30 and 7.00, 7 days a week), and it was lush. Started off with a litre of sangria, some olives and anchovies(I hate anchovies as a rule, but these were actually not only edible but tasty), then some jalapenos, steak strips, swordfish, chicken croquettes and then two desserts(crème catalan and a pavlova) and the whole lot came to under £40. Slightly slow service but to be fair it was a beautiful sunny evening and I wasn’t bothered. I heart Dos Amigos, FACT.
