Used to be one of my favourite restaurant to go to where there was something on the menu everyone would like, however after promising my 12 yr old son that he could finally come with me… We were deeply disappointed. we ordered the starters my son had warm chicken salad. Dried out chicken pieces on old lettuce leaves. His face said it all ine however, garlic and cheese mushrooms were delicious… moving on to the main course. I noted we waited for nearly an hour .Both were dried up and burnt, lasagne and bacon burger. The waiter asked if we had enjoyed our meal, I had to be honest and say exactly what we thought. He did however speak to his manager and gave us our meal for free. If the resultant had been busy I could understand it but there was only a hand full of customers … Frankie and bennies you can do better !!

The service was great I really couldn’t say a bad word about that. I ordered the warm chicken salad, sadly I found it a little oily. Well more than a little it was dripping in oil. The chicken too was somewhat disappointing, I was expecting a good size piece of chicken especially for the price. When it arrive the chicken was just a few little pieces.

There’s nothing ‘wrong’ with Frankie & Benny’s as a chain. The food is pleasant and the waiting staff pleasant and polite. To their credit they have a dedicated gluten free menu which is great for coeliac sufferers and others with a wheat/cerial intolerance. It would be nice if they actually advertised the fact that this menu exists rather than waiting for someone to ask about what is gluten free on the standard menu. I went with a couple of family for lunch and, to be fair, my Louisiana chicken wrap was every bit as good as a McDonald’s snack wrap just much more expensive. Both my companions chose the fully loaded omelette from the gluten free menu and indeed it was fully loaded and, by all accounts, delicious(although one was slightly under cooked). It was a pity that they couldn’t do the omelette as an option on the lunchtime menu as it was very expensive and could have been made only a little expensive. One final note. One of our party was in a wheelchair and we found access to the disabled toilet difficult as the only route was in use as a buggy parking area.
