Me and my friends were going to meet at the millennium square and because one of them were walking all around city center we decided to sit at there since it was close. Our order was Greek Salad, chips and mix grill skewers. I’ll start from the salad. I don’t know who had the idea to name it «Greek». Just because it has olives and feta doesn’t make it solely Greek! It’s like calling all pizzas«Italian Pizza» regardless the topping just because it has mozzarella on it. Apart from that the taste was«meh»(sorry for the sound description, i can’t seem to find a proper word for it), the quality of the feta didn’t impress me and the olives were tasteless and for some reason it had basil in it which it made it taste funny. About the skewers although flavor wise it was good, the size was not as good. I’m pretty sure we got the sharing size. The only way someone to get full out of that was to share it with themselves. To give you an idea the sizw of a skewer was no bigger than a simple Bic pen. Also i found it a bit expensive for the amount we got. It included two sk of prawns, two sk with meatballs and two sk with chicken. The atmosphere was nice and cosy. The service up to the time we got served was good but after that the waitress either was nowhere to be seen or she just wasn’t paying any attention towards our side so every time we needed something we had to go back and forward to the bar. We were sitting right next to the entrance so i think we were quite obvious.

Another accidental discovery, much in the way Rachael fond Ha Ha Bar & Grill, was the same way I did, after stumbling onto it after stumbling out of the Christmas Market, funnily enough around Christmas time. It had been one of those days where you try and fit so much in that you actually forget to eat and sit down for five. Luckily Ha Ha is right off Millennium Square, so we didn’t have far to wobble after the German Fire Punch had done it’s worst. Ha Ha is another«nice» place to stop in your tracks and just have a good glass of wine, or a fresh J20, grab a bite to eat and enjoy your good company in a stylish yet fairly relaxed setting, well when it’s not the Christmas Market it’s normally fairly relaxed, as you can imagine, nothing in this area at that time of year is ever going to be too quiet. Food is alright, again nothing spectacular, yet nothing innoffensive, my chicken burger was lightly flame grilled, it came with a cute portion of chips, obligatory sauce and far too many tomatoes for my liking, but removing them was no real effort. A little more on the expensive side of pub grub menus and whilst it’s nice food, it doesn’t set the tastebuds on fire. There’s not a lot in the way of veggie dishes, but at least there’s something, so veggie managed to get something to tuck into. Round it off with a latte, which again, is ok, and you’ve got an ok venue, that doesn’t stand out amidst the many many of it’s type in this area, but is a nice and safe place to grab a bite and a drink.

We’re rocking and rolling to the top end of town now. Oh yes, one of my favourite areas of Leeds. Just off Millennium Square lies several places where you can find me falling out of or at more civilised times eating at. Haha is one of the latter. The venue is super cool. It’s modern with more than a twist of elegant design and clean crisp furniture. Minimalist without feeling too bare. And it’s pretty well sized too so you’ve always got a fair shout of getting a table, even on busier nights. As for the food well it’s original and tasty. If I’m feeling a bit virtuous I’ll go for the Greek salad but feel free to chow down on the sausage and mash, risotto or one of the pastas available. At lunch you’ll be able to grab a burger or wrap and the fish fingers always seem a popular choice. For drinks, it’s got to be cocktail o’clock although the wine list is also much to my liking. If you’re being good, grab a smoothie or latte. The choice is yours madam. On a Friday and Saturday it provides a popular meeting place for the clubbing elite or town crowd massive but that’s because it’s a good all rounder.

I only popped in here for a quick drink one day with my friends before we went back out to the German Market. When we went in, there was low lighting and candles on the tables which looked really nice and gave off a good atmosphere. We all had a glass of Merlot which was lovely and priced the same as you’d expect from anywhere. The only thing I didn’t like was how heaving the place was, I was glad I wasn’t going to be eating there as the tables seem quite close together and not as private as i’d like it to be to have discussions over dinner. Saying that, I’d like to go back in one day to eat there and enjoy the atmosphere.

A trendy bar on Millenium Square, dont’ expect cheap drinks in this place. Tends to be a place for people to meet before going on to a club, though is a nice place to relax and spend the evening, especially if you get a seat outside in the courtyard(though bring back the comfy chairs please!). People are usually fairly dressed up here, but you don’t need to wear a suit.

Haha is a really trendy bar situated on the busy millenium square. It is a really nice bar which has a fantastic indoor courtyard which it shares with other bars. It is a great social meeting point and creates a really chilled out relaxing evening. The drinks are a little expensive but always good quality. The food is also really scrummy!
