So, sick of the usual ‘chain’ restaurant choice we’d usually choose to go to pre-cinema, Henrys has a 241 offer on food this week so we booked in. I avoid this bar like the plague on nights out as it’s usually packed as are most of the bars on Greek Street so it was nice to be able to see the ‘warts and all’ side of things during the quieter week! There was probably around 10⁄15 people in catching that after work well needed drink and the barman gave a cheery hello. 60p for a soda & lime. The bar area was very clean and has a good selection of draught & bottled beers as well as a lengthy cocktail menu. The décor is quite modern with a mix of carpet and wooden flooring and it’s a massive trek downstairs and along the corridor to the loo’s! We took a good browse of the food menu and I was surprised by it’s diversity for a bar. I chose the blackened chicken and my friend the prime beef burger. We ate in the bar area so orders have to be placed at the bar– I think there is a designated ‘eating’ area towards the back where I would assume you get the table service. Anyway, our cutlery was brought out followed shortly after by our food. The chicken was a lovely full breast sat on sauteed potatoes with an avocado salsa and sour crème. The burger was served on a wood platter with a generous portion of fries and we also had a side of onion rings. The chicken was juicy, nicely seasoned and the salsa complimented in very nicely. The potatoes were also spot on. All I got to hear about the burger was that it was ‘well nice’! It was topped with some nice salad and actual gherkins! The onion rings were very tasty a

Ok, so as a patron who errs on the edge of grumbling into a pint rather than dancing around showing off my «booty» I think I chose the wrong day to nip into Henry’s. It was a busy Friday night and a bunch of us arrived on Greek Street really ready to just, well, sit and chat candidly about the week’s goings on. Not ready for the aural blast that battered away at us when we made our way, past the shirts and skirts and perfumery, to get to the bar at Henry’s. As it was clear we’d picked the wrong venue for a natter I grabbed us a half each, yes I’m totally British and would have felt far too rude to simply walk back out again, so I got a swift round in and we sat at the back where there were plenty of empty tables. Man, the weekend drinks pack a punch on the wallet! Though I’m told on good authority that Henry’s is awesomely cheap during the week, so I fully intend to update this review and report back on that one! The bar is huge and allows for large groups to partake of the ambiance, which on a weekend is seriously set to cocktails and a bit of light grinding. Although the place was packed with a reasonably rowdy lot I certainly think the crowd here are a darn sight more amenable than across the city. It is Greek Street, after all. Nevertheless, the venue simply isn’t to my taste on the weekend nights. As I mentioned, I’m much more of a conversation-based drinker and feel far more at home in a cosy pub, or live gig event. That said, I must be in a minority here as everyone and their dog were having a blast here when we popped in. Enjoy, if you love cocktails, dancing and a big crowd!

I love the place, it is top notch and in such a trendy area surrounded by plenty of other bars and restaurants in Leeds city centre. The drinks are a little bit on the pricey side but the menu is good but slighty limited. The staff are excellent and are very welcoming and the service is very good there. I had the pleasure of spending my 33rd birthday in the restaurant and I was not disapointed!

At the bank side of town is the always popular Greek Street. Here you’ll find more of the business types and less students and the bars and restaurants reflect this. Henry’s Café Bar is no different. It’s a rich and beautifully decked out place to chill out and it really screams class from the word go. You could imagine Carrie and Miranda approving on a visit from the big apple. Ladies who lunch, working lunches or just those who want to enjoy nice, food, fine wine and good coffee, you’ll find them here. That’s not to say it’s an elitist place because it isn’t. You don’t have to be dressed up to the nines or wearing your best Jimmy Choos, all are welcome. My friends and I tend to hit it pre lunch for a mid morning double espresso but they have a good food menu themselves. You’ll find gourmet burgers, fine cheeses, pasta and lots of traditional dishes such as sausage and mash. Something for everyone really.

This really did used to be the place to see and be seen in Leeds around 10 years ago, and my recent visit to this place was quite dis-appointing. The whole place seemed a little shabby and in need of some TLC to bring it back to its best. Drinks were expensive and although the bar has a good mix of people in it the atmosphere is somehow lacking. Won’t be hurrying back to this place when there are so many new bars around it. Its somehow lost its way and gone down hill.

Chavtastic cocktail bar that I only go in now if I’m too drunk to protest. Sort of place you’ll find people who are old enough to know better dancing to songs they’ve never heard of.

I love this bar, it is located on the popular Greeks street which always have a lively atmosphere. Henry’s itself is usually a pretty busy spot. There is some great seating next to large full length windows that look straight out onto Greek street itself and it is great to watch everyone go by and be prepared to see some sights on a friday and saturday night. The staff are slick so you wont have to wait long at the bar to be served which is a bonus.

I used to quite like going in Henrys but it seems to have gone down the pan. Its full of idiots in suits that have had one too many after work. It needs updating as far as the décor goes and it’s way overated in my opinion there are loads better bars in Leeds to go to than Henrys.
