There is no pretence about this place, you walk in and you know exactly what to expect. It’s a ‘proper’ pub and that somehow makes it special. Cheap and cheerful it certainly is and I never take issue with cheap drinks and food(£4.49 for burger and a pint or two Sunday roasts for £7). As for cheerful, well, that’s what a pub should be and we were greeted at the bar like old friends(well yes I have been here before but that was some 30 years ago). Don’t expect rare and wonderful fare and you won’t find a bar full of fine ales but you will be welcomed warmly and not spend a fortune(and it does have free wi-fi)

Having ventured into this place as it was on route to a friends flat from town, I know exactly what Susan means. There is nothing to really single this place out, nor are there any redeeming features. It is simply an average watering hole near the bus station. On the upside, if there was an unusual bus delay on the bus you needed to catch, it would be a reasonable place to go to kill some time.

There’s a chance that someone might have invented the word average for this place. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though… if you want to listen to average music while sinking back some averagely priced pints of average beer, possibly while standing an average chance of pulling a variety of average looking people, then this place may well be for you. Sometimes they have even have live music, which is fairly… oh, I reckon you get the picture. It’s a bearable place for a pint if you’re stuck, or grabbing a quick drink to or from the nearby bus station, but not much more than that. Plus, the turquoise ceiling makes me feel sick.

Quite acceptable low budget fayre, close to such amenities as Millgarth Police Station and Leeds Bus Station. For me, on good days, a fairly regular lunchtime stop.
