Conveniently located with only a short walk to the city centre, Jurys Inn, all in all, provided what we needed for a weekend stay in Leeds. It certainly looked like a four star hotel from its ground floor, all very sleek and spotless, though the room we had, especially the bathroom, was looking decidedly tired and in need of a revamp. That being said, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The walls to the neighbouring rooms weren’t exactly the thickest, unfortunately, so you could occasionally hear other guests(something I’ve not experienced in the likes of Premier Inns). We decided against including breakfasts to the cost of our stay as there’s lots of alternative choices nearby. For parking, there’s a large long-stay car park on land adjacent to the hotel, but it’s costly for a whole weekend. There is security and its gates are locked overnight though, so you’ve peace of mind.

We booked a triple room — 3 guys off on a football weekend. It was supposed to be 3 single beds. Well, it was a very small double and a single. When we told them about it, they said that they didn’t have any triples with 3 singles. A double that could be separated would have done but we didn’t get that either. The rooms are very nice though, very comfortable but so hot in the room. I didn’t find the thermostat until the next morning though. Guess that happens when you get in late with a few beers in your brain. We came down in the morning for breakfast and the young lady asked our room number and then said, «your room doesn’t include breakfast.» Well, it did because it was on our booking form, «breakfast included!» So we had a wait a few minuts while she checked. The breakfast was good. Lots of choices including everything for a full English. Overall the food and the hotel were very good. Checking in, the young lady on the desk was a bit of a sour puss. Must have been having a bad day.

If you’re not familiar with Leeds as a city, it can be quite daunting to book a hotel — do you go properly inner city, near some street names you think you may have heard of and pay a bit of a premium, or do you go with the hotel with the best offer and simply keep your fingers crossed that you can find your way to a halfway decent pub? Well, we did the latter, but it turns out that Jury’s Inn is in a great up and coming location, with plenty to offer around it and only a short 5 minute walk into town. I wouldn’t say our welcome was warm, exactly, but it did the job and soon enough we were in our room. The bed was comfy, bathroom clean, and tea & coffee available. We didn’t want our room to be turned down either night; although I understand and appreciate the concept, I do become slightly wary of someone being so close to my personal belongings. However, this also left us out of milk quite quickly which, although we asked at reception for more, didn’t appear. Check out was quick and easy, but again done with barely a hint of a smile, making us feel a bit of a burden. Good location, good services, okay staff.

It’s 5 o’clock in the morning and I’m doing my review of this place even before I’ve tried the brekkie — I might update based on what’s on offer in a few hours. I used to live in Leeds and never really spent much time in this part of town apart from the odd trip to Azucar(great food and booze) and I’d certainly never stayed at this particular Jury’s Inn. Jury’s Inn hotels tend to be a safe bet. Decent rooms, handy locations etc. This hotel delivers on those aspects — clean, good sized room, tea & coffee making facilities, nice reception and bar area and free wifi once you check in and get a code. YEY! Now, I don’t have a nice view in the room I’m in. Far from it, the bottom end of Leeds city centre appears outside my window along with a lovely(that was meant to be sarcastic) huge car park that may once have been Tetley’s brewery(RIP). But if you’re on the other side of the hotel you’d get a nicer view. Hey, I don’t need the view — Leeds is my second home and I already know all the sexy and not so sexy bits. I’m getting tired now so I’ll tell you what I REALLY love about this hotel; THEPLUGNEXTTOMYBED! If you stay in hotels often you’ll know how rare and what a blessing this is. So that’s it. I’m happy. Back to sleep.

Rooms were nice and clean. Friendly and very helpful staff. The turning on lights took a min but it worked its way out. It was close to a local convince shop, but next to a large parking lot.

Whilst living in relative squalor during my student years(not my own, I hasten to add), my Mam opted to stay in hotels when visiting me. I can’t say that I blame her really. The Jury’s Inn chain delivers what it has set out to achieve. It is a modern development in a fashionable neighbourhood, just ten minutes walk from the city centre. My Mam always seemed to be allocated a room on the side which overlooks the square of Brewery Wharf. Views of the canal and public art relating to the brewing history of the area, created an interesting sight. The bedrooms were always clean and spacious, great value for a central location.

Jurys Inn has all the standards that you might expect from a hotel; the rooms are lovely and well looked after, the service is good, everything is clean, and you get all the standard complementariness you could ask for. One of the nicer things about this Jurys though is the bar and café area. Situated in one of the more up town areas of the city centre Jurys has a variety of other cool bars within its vicinity, and so it seems as though they’ve taken that on board with their own. For a decent up-market coffee, quiet drink or some smart mixers before heading out on the town, it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area. Very nice!

The Jurys Inn at Leeds can be a little tricky to find and if you are not lucky enough to get one of the few parking spaces outside you could be in for a bit of a walk with your luggage. However, other than that, it’s a fine place to stay(especially if you just want somewhere to crash and not spend a huge amount of time in). The rooms are clean, the bathroom is fine, only a short walk to the centre and it is not overly expensive.

I spent 2 nights at the Jurys Inn in Leeds at the end of November. My Mum, sister and I wanted to visit the Christmas markets and were looking for somewhere reasonably priced to stay. We only really planned on using the hotel to sleep in, we weren’t looking for anywhere that we wanted to spend a lot of time in, and so just wanted a nice simple place. The Jury’s Inn seemed to fit our bill! It’s located at Brewery Wharf which is just on the outskirts on the centre. For a city centre hotel, this is a great location. The rooms are basic and on the small side, but if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep, they are fine. The hotel was well kept and the staff very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant and bar inside the hotel. I didn’t eat at the restaurant but it seemed reasonably priced. The bar was well-stocked, we had a few drinks. The staff didn’t speak perfect English but we managed to make ourselves understood! Overall, a great hotel for a city break to Leeds.
