The food quality does not live up to the quality or the kebabish name. I go to the kebabish restaurant in London and its miles better. I would give this a miss and try else where. I went once and n I’m not going again.

Been here 3 times and the foods spot on. Price is reasonable too. All the staff are smart in their black trousers and shirts except one chav(prbably the owners son) who was wearing a yellow Brasil vest and trakky bottoms. His armpit hair was long too and he was waiting on tables and stirring currys on the grill — not good. Let the place down.

My experience of Kebabish began pretty much in the same way as Aneila’s, twas recommended by a Pakistani mate who suggested we should all go one afternoon, as she thought the food was really good, she and her sister visited, and they really liked it, and on that premise, we should like it too. Six of us rolled up one lazy Thursday afternoon, and upon reaching the front door, there was an exchange of glances and looking at our dear friend as if she was loco. Stepping through the doors didn’t instil any further confidences, but when we were shown our table towards the back of the restaurant, a collective sigh was exhaled. Nice and clean, laid out, smart but not too fancy, we could finally relax and let the smell of the grill hit us. With a mixture of kebabs, curries, salads and sundries on our table it was nice to see what we were glad to have ordered and what we were jealous we hadn’t. I had the tandoori, which was lovely, not too dry and really nice in the flavour dept, not too overpowering without being dry and dull. I faired better than some of my eat buddies, as one found her curry to be too greasy, and used a large portion of her naan soaking it up as to detract from the taste. Whilst everything was nice, and there was nothing hideously wrong with the food, it was just nice. Nothing outstanding, but a place I wouldn’t object to returning to. I was disappointed at my friend for bigging it up so much, as I said, nice, but not worthy of going out of your way when there are plenty of Indian food eateries in and around the city centre.

This place was recommended to me by a Pakistani friend, telling me and my boyfriend that it was the most authentic Pakistani culinary experience he had encountered since moving to Leeds. Taking up the suggestion of trying it, we decided to go there. Looking nothing special from the outside, when you enter, there are large grills cooking up the kebabs and big pans cooking up the curries in front of you. Despite the counter not being too attractive, the smells and the ‘live cooking’ in Kebabish were fantastic. When you get past the counter, there is a full restaurant space, rather eligantly decorated, a total contrast to the rather bleak façade. We took our food home with us, despite wanting to stay(mainly because we were picking up other people’s food too). Although my chicken curry was nothing too special, and wouldn’t have me trapsing across to a different area in Leeds again. Having said that though, it was nice-but it was the kebabs(surprise.) that were lovely. Incredibly well seasoned, they tasted fresh and were distinguishable as the meat it was supposed to be, rather than the notorious donner meat that is found so much around dodgy takeaways, leading you to question it’s autheticity and its origin! All I would say, is that you want salad and some naan in which to wrap your meat, you must specify, particularly if you order it as a takeaway, or you might just be left with a takeaway carton filled with just the kebab meat, and nothing else.

From the outside, Kebabish Original looks like any other greasy late-night takeaway. And to be honest, it looks a bit like that on the inside too. Head past the massive flame grill, however, and you’ll find a neat little restaurant section towards the back, decked out in a surprisingly classy style. The food here is fantastically varied, from meaty mixed grills and sirloin steaks to curries, burgers and chips, making Kebabish a good stop if you’ve got a party with mixed tastes, although they may look at you strangely when you first lead them through the unpromising front door. With cheap prices — just two quid for a burger and around a fiver for a main course — they often get busy, so get here early to get a table, or stop by after the pub for a takeaway that’s a cut above the usual greasy kebab.

I had tried the food in the Bradford Kebabish restaurant and I really liked it a lot but it is quite far from where I live and was eager to try the on in Leeds when it opened. The food is even nicer than the Bradford one! You can see the food being cooked on the large grill. The open plan layout allows you to see how everything is being done and everything looked really clean. It has a lovely layout and relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent with helpful and friendly staff. Most importantly to me was the high quality of the food. It was so tasty and flavoursome, each dish was unique and I am now a regular customer. There are many many places to eat in this area, but being form Harehills myself I would say Kebabish is the best. The food is undoubtedly the nicest, freshest and tastiest around. The prices are very worth it!

Great value! Gorgeous food!!! The food was like Akbars but tastier & less expensive!(& don’t have to wait an hour for a table on a Friday night). There is a lot more choice too.(We got a mixture of curries and grilled food & the kids got a peri-peri burger & chips). All the food was really fresh and the meat was perfect, sizzling on the plate. We looked at the menu on their website before hand if that helps anyone
