It’s true what Alex has said, to look at the exterior of this little flower shop you might decide to overlook it and choose another place to purchase your bouquets. However, that old adage that one shouldn’t judge a book by its’ cover does apply here! All is not what it seems from the outside. Just looking at their website will demonstrate the huge range of floral services they have on offer, from valentine’s day, birthdays, new baby’s, congratulations, anniversaries, food and hamper gifts — I mean the list goes on and on! Not only that the arrangements are reasonably priced, given how inflated a lot of the chain stores’ prices can be, and being indie I think that extra care goes into them too. If you’ve not gone with their ever-so-close competitors — give House of Flowers a go. You won’t be disappointed!

This place looks a little bit run-down and dodgy, all alone on a largely unoccupied bit of land by the student halls on Otley Road. Luckily enough, you don’t have to actually have to go there to get your bouquet on, as, like most florists, they deliver. I recently needed to get some flowers for a friend’s mother(not because I was trying to seduce her, but because she’d provided me with some free accommodation in Spain), and used this place to choose an expensive looking(but in reality quite cheap) lilly arrangement. It was delivered on time, and from what I heard, presented well with the correct message on the card. All in all, a very good performance from the House of Flowers — but what else would you expect from a business with a name like that.
