I know this Loch Fyne branch gets many mixed reviews. However, we had a good experience. It was a very late lunch, and there were only perhaps two other tables occupied when we were there. So the restaurant was quite empty. The service was prompt and friendly. As for the food everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. We ordered glasses of wine to go with our meals which complimented our leisurely late lunch. Location-wise the restaurant is right there on a busy intersection in an old post office building. Cannot miss it.

Last time I went I ordered the lobster spaghetti and it had no flavour whatsoever. The staff were nice but the food was lousy finally. Neither of my two friends enjoyed their food particular either. Which was a shame because I’ve been to loch fyne in the past and it was wonderful. I hope standards have not dropped!

Came here for a meal on a Wednesday night. We had walked past it hundreds of times and always assumed it was a pretty generic chain restaurant with not much to offer, but having decided to take my other half out to experience lobster for the first time, internet searches flagged this place up as the best option for such a dish in the city. First impressions were of a fairly quiet(although not empty) restaurant that seems far more cosy than expected from the large stone external façade. The waiting staff are also very relaxed, almost at odds with the grandeur of the building, but they were also very friendly and informative, giving recommendations and tips on the menu. Our original plan was to go for one of their shellfish platters(with a lobster as the star of the centerpiece), however upon finding out that this dish was served chilled, it didn’t seem right for a cold November night’s eating. Instead, we decided on a seafood tagliatelle(for myself) and the whole lobster and french fries(for my partner). To start with I had the tempura soft shelled crab served with sweet chili sauce, I had wanted to try soft shelled crab for a while, and I was a little disappointing. The crabs themselves were fine but the sweet chili sauce was totally overpowering(it seemed to have been mixed with lime juice). The other starter however was absolutely fantastic, a trio of smoked salmons with unbelievable texture and flavors(the only issue with this dish being the fish being served on a soft crumbly rye bread which didn’t add much overall). The seafood pasta main was a great example of the dish, packed with prawns, scallops and clams, mixed with a wonderful creamy garlic sauce. Its a dish I often choose and this once was up there with the best I’ve tried, the cuttings of samphire run through the dish really lifted it. The lobster dish contained a 1 lb lobster and was perfectly serviceable. The tail meat wasn’t the firmest but the flavor was very good, both sweet and fishy/meaty. The chips were crispy thin cut variety and suited the dish well. Overall the experience was very good. I felt the food was fairly good value(although with the 25% off food voucher we had, it was extremely good value) and the portion sized were more than adequate. The only negative aspect was the atmosphere, which was fairly muted, although it was a Wednesday night so this can be forgiven to a degree.

Came here for my anniversary and it was brilliant, the food we had was incredibly tasty and they were well catered for it been Gluten Free food and had a good knowledge around this, the service was good fast and they were very pleasant. The food we ordered was on the expensive side(Was anniversary) but it was such good quality we defiantly paid for it. Nice environment to eat in and would defiantly go back! It’s good. It just needs a little shove. What Works: — Menu is fun and full of options — Food tastes great(yum, twice-cooked chips!) — Outdoor seating is spectacular — Great corner view What Doesn’t Work: — Service is truly slow — Like, truly — Servers are too casual(in uniform and service style) for menu and ambience If you prize food and ambience and can forgive a wait, definitely come.

I have read a mixture of reviews of this place so wasn’t too sure what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was just delicious, simple but flavorsome. Soft and delicate and excellent combination of flavours. I got the traditional Scottish desert which I would recommend to anyone!!! So good. No five stars from me because my side of a medley of seafood was cold :(and the service was a little slow. Very good friendly service though so it doesn’t matter. They do some non fish meals if you are going with someone who isn’t a fan but this is the place to go for fish.

Having been to the Loch Fyne in York and loved it, I was very excited to go to the one in Leeds but was left disappointed by the service and the food. I had the king prawns for starter at a cost of £5.95, they were tasty but very sparse. I only got 3. My main of smoked haddock was perfectly cooked but the veg that came with it was too al dente. We went on a Thursday night and the restaurant wad not very busy but we had to ask numerous times for another bottle of wine and then for water. It’s a lovely décor and lots of the food is delicious but they need
