Paperchase is brilliant for grabbing a last minute card when you’ve just realised the person you’re meeting for lunch had a birthday two days ago. It’s convenient and has been a life saver for me on many occasions due to my brain having the storage capacity of a sieve. What’s also nifty is the odd gift that they stock, if you’ve got a creative type then a nicely clad/bound/decorated notebook and pen is a good rescue, and what d’you know, they also stock gift wrap and bags. Phew. There’s a nice selection of genres from the cute to the funny to the sloppy to the cartoon, the serious, the heartfelt and the contemporary. It’s a small cube of a store that’s tightly packed with stock from floor to ceiling and the last time I was in, the 3 or 4 members of staff on shift seemed a little unwarranted but what they hell eh? They’re ruddy rude!!! One lass didn’t even bother to look at me as I handed over my intended purchases, she just called out the price, carried on her conversation and stuck her hand out for my dosh. How flippin rude! In my own act of small rebellion I fished out all the shrapnel in my pocket and chucked it down on the till area. Hah! Take that rude sales assistant. Anyone else had this treatment, or was it just my face she took umbrage with?
