Now don’t get me wrong, I like Leeds but one thing I hate about it is the parking, from getting off the M621 /M62, I find it so hard to find a decent place to park in the city center, I even had to spend £4 to park in Morrisons, only to realize it was only for 2 hours, which meant having to come here, which was near enough opposite Morrisons at The Merrion Center. Like any parking in the city center, here it is expensive, although the prices are not as bad as NCP which is at The Core, nearby where it cost me £10.70 for 3 hours(I think it was 3 hours, but the prices seem to have changed now, but it might have been more), which was overall a horrible car park, meanwhile this one it only cost £9 for 3 hours, which is near enough on par, but based on current pricing at NCP The Core, it is £12.50 for 3 – 4 hours, so here is slightly cheaper with it being £9 for 3 hours and £10 for 4 hours, but still it is expensive and typical city center pricing. As with the name, this parking serves St John’s mall, which is a smaller shopping center in Leeds, within walking distance to the shops on the outside and The Trinity, so overall not a bad location. This car park is open 24/7, which means they is no set time limit on how long you can stay for, unlike certain car parks, such as Morrisons, but still after a while it can get pricey, with it being charged at £21 per 24 hours. One thing I don’t get about the pricing is the price too, it costs £2.50 for 1 hour, but then £6.50 for 2, which means in that deal it would be cheaper to buy two one hour tickets, which would total £5, which I feel is a bit of a rip off. I have added the tariffs here(All rates as of Tuesday 26th January 2015) 1 hour — £2.50(£2.50 an hour) 2 hour — £6.50(£3.25 an hour) 3 hour — £9(£3 an hour) 4 hour — £10(£2.50 an hour) 6 hours — £13(£2.16 an hour) 8 hours — £16(£2 an hour) 12 hours — £20(£1.66 an hour) 24 hours — £21(£0.88 an hour) Night rate between 18:00 and 9am — £7(£0.46 an hour) For a city center car park, it is quite expensive to park here, but in the long term it does work out cheap when you consider how much you are paying an hour, but to get any sort of good deal in my opinion you need to stay beyond 8 hours, or maybe even 12, which is probably unlikely for most visitors. This car park is probably a nightmare for short stay, with it working out really expensive there, if you only plan to spend a few hours, you are probably best looking elsewhere such as Morrisons at The Merrion Centre where it is £4 for 2 hours, and £2 for 1 hour, with this being refunded if you spend £20 or £10 in store respectivley. This overall is a nicer car park to NCP and Morrisons, and is in a good, central location but still with the short term pricing, and it being located in a «dead», «quiet», «slightly-depressing» shopping center, and it like most car parks in Leeds being difficult to find, I sadly don’t feel it is worth any more than 2 stars. Even the floors here were a little like an ice-skating rink, due to what I guess was oil or water on the floor. If you like Dancing On Ice, and don’t want to pay high prices to watch the show live, this is your best alternative, but as a car park — unless you are planning quite a long stay, look elsewhere!
