RUDE! The two women on the desk were so rude to me & my wife, my sister as we come along for her first tattoo and we were asked to leave whilst she was having it done. We said we were going to stay and they made a massive fuss they said we blocked the exit so sit down then told us to move out of the seats for the customers(This would not have been an issue if there were customers in the shop?!) then told us not to look at the tattooist as we were distracting her(Despite the tattooist talking to my sister & the other tattooist in the room) and there was another girl getting a tattoo who had a friend sat in the room in the tattooist section talking to my sister her friend and both tattooists?! I was unsure how standing and giving the thumbs up to my sister to see if she was ok was so distracting to the tattooist it required us getting told off and moved around the shop? The woman with the metal face and her friend with a pink strip in her hair were possibly the most rude people iv met in a while. My wife previously had got a piercing from this place(From metal face woman) and she seemed to be rough and unsympathetic, would not recommend this place at all. (Based on 3 visits)

I guess I have a different perspective from most people on here as I have never been tattooed or pierced here; I stick to my usual place. However all I have heard is good things about this studio, so one day I went to check it out. It was super easy to find, literally opposite Blue Rinse, which makes it a great location in the city centre to get some work done. The bus station is just around the corner and the train station not too far away either. I came in here to buy some tunnels for my ears and found a great variety of plugs and tunnels. I also bought a septum ring from here for just £5. I do however find their jewelry to be quite pricey. For a 10 mm plain black tunnel it cost me £8 when I’ve bought them for around £3 before. So slightly pricey however the lady at the desk was more than helpful in helping me get the right size for my ear and so on. In this studio the staff do look scary, one has about 100 piercings on her face but when you get talking, they are nothing but lovely!

Searching for a place to have your body deformed, Red has some ardent followers. For piercing and tattooing many people in Leeds come here. Recently modernised this studio is clean and well managed with good artists to perform the acts. Good after care advice is given and you’ll feel in safe hands.

I have been pierced at Red Tattoo and Piercing twice now and both times I felt very comfortable. The staff are very friendly, helpful and approachable(unlike some tattoo parlor staff who seem to get off on being intimidating, tss). The décor is very Dita Von Tease /Cartoon Gothic with glass cabinets displaying brightly colored contact lenses, hair dye, and all of the various pieces of jewellery. They have a comfortable seating area(including an amazing leopard print sofa that I want to steal) and a pile of body art magazines to gawp at while you wait. Everything is explained to you properly with a sheet of aftercare tips and what to do if you get infected. All the needles are sterilized and gloves are worn. Very professional. The tattoos are a bit bright and oafish for my liking with books of hearts and ‘mother’ and roses, but they are willing to do your own design or customise a piece for you. I would definitely recommend red.

High pain threshold? Want a new piercing? Another Tattoo? I would recommend Red Tattoo and Piercing. I have had both piercings and tattoo’s done here! What makes Red so special is that the staff and young, vibrant and love their art. For tattoo’s you can take your own design and they will recreate this PERFECTLY for you. If you need some advice they will help you create the tattoo if you give them an idea of what kind of look you wish to have! Prices are reasonable. For examples, a 2 inch(approx) outline will cost you between £25−35. Other prices however depend on what you wish for. For piercing, prices are a little expensive. This again depends on the piercing and the ring/stud you want! Staff are interested in your needs however and take the time out to walk you around the Gothic, boudoir designed shop to explain all the different possibilities. If you search around Leeds you will find cheaper places for both tattoos and piercing. Nevertheless for the comfort that Red provides, the extra price is worth it!
