The St. Gemma’s Vintage Fair was something more awesome than I could have imagined. I’m just really glad that I participated as a stall holder and not a punter, as I would have been desperately out of pocket! The St. Gemma’s Vintage Fair is a massive event that is utterly bursting with stalls. Hoards of indie crafts people, collectors and sellers alike gather to sell their beautiful vintage items for really great prices. I attended the last one, as a stall holder on the Sunday, and was truly overwhelmed by the amounts of beautiful gear there was out on display. The stalls ranged from antique and vintage styled furniture, jewellery stalls, collectables, glassware, records, art works and canvasses, clothing, hats and much much more. There was a stall near me selling old school clocks, even, in amongst a myriad of seventies lamps and sixties fixtures. There is a café to buy lunches/coffees/teas and such, so you can make a great afternoon of it, browsing and nibbling. The organisers were utterly lovely and helpful too, which is great news if you’re a potential stall holder, and the price for the stall was really competitive — £30 a day, £50 a weekend. Set up also included free toast, which was much needed on my part, as I hadn’t had time for breakfast! Theses events are hugely popular, with the Saturday event boasting up to 900 visitors, so it’s a must-see, must-get-involved event for *anyone* let alone vintage fans! My housemates came along and walked away with a huge table unit for a mere £10(£5 for the unit, £5 for delivery) and what else, you might wonder? Well, I’ll tell you. Only a blooming Vigo painting, of Ghostbusters 2 fame, for £15! Yeah, that’s right. Vigo is in fact staring at me now, with his inexorable grin, the fires burning behind him. It’s frackin’ awesome, is what it is. Come, come, come to the vintage fair! They are held regularly and enjoyed widely amongst us Leeds folk. I had absolutely loads of fun, chatted to lots of vintage lovers — sellers and buyers alike, and it’s a great day out. Exciting times, I tell thee!
