After a few exciting tipples on the Monday Unilocal Drinks crawl our small posse realised that we needed some sustenance. En route to grab a cab we nipped into Subway, a seldom occurrence for me, and decided to grab a bite to keep our stomachs at bay until the morning. All things considered, it was an excellent idea. Often is the case that I’ll go without and feel the hunger of a wolf on arriving home, and as soon as I smelled the sandwiches inside the rumbling started — post-booze hunger. The system is as ever efficient, with the poor staff who’d clearly worked lengthy hours and still had some yet to go mustering as much mirth with us as possible, so there was barely a five minute wait until sandwich happiness. I opted for a salami and cheese contraption, with gherkins and some other salad, all of which was pretty fresh. The bread was good, not great, but not sale as has happened before. It’s certainly not a glamorous bite, nor is it a gourmet bite, but it did the job. And probably had a huge hand in dispelling what could have been a rather nasty hang over! Happy days. You could do better, but you could also do far worse.

Decent, clean and fast service considering how busy they usually are. Everything the same as every other Subway — I just wish they were as exciting as they used to be! The thing with this one is there are loads of much better places to eat very closeby, especially Tiger Tiger across the road — if I ever go down this road, I’d prefer a decent sit down meal, instead of a grab and run sandwich.
