The stars are actually for the staff. Our server was brilliant. I do not go to TGI Fridays in the USA and darn sure was not looking forward to dining in there on this side of the pond. It’s all naff. Over priced, small portion food that is just warmed up(not much) and served with sweet sauces. What a shame. We needed to eat quickly due to our plans and were a captive audience. I will never return for the food or drinks but well done to the bar staff and servers. P. S. Turn down that flippin’ music already!

Staff are really nice and food is good, though a bit expensive. I like the mozzarella dippers or the potato skins as a starter and either steak or chicken as a main. I also had a really good drink last time that had blue curaçao, apple juice, and passion fruit juice along with vodka(not sure exactly). My friend also got a Mexican beer they can’t find other places. Yummyness! My friend and I were both really happy.

The grand daddy of chain burger/rib/meat joints hit Leeds back in March when it opened as part of the Trinity centre, and whilst anyone who’s ever been to one of the countries TGIs should be well aware of what they’re going to get, and that was what we got when we went in last week. Firstly, I have this unjustified massive preconception that because all the Trinity eateries were jam packed in the week after it opened, that they still are. Reality check, they aren’t. Most of the places up on the eatery deck are now operating at normal capacity — and for TGI this meant that the restaurant was pretty much dead. What that meant was that we got seated fairly quickly by a member of staff who was happy and smily, who bantered with us while the 7 in our party took a seat. Equally, the member of staff who was assigned to our table was smily and friendly and came back a few times throughout the visit to ensure that we were happy. But that’s not hard to see why, as I say the restaurant was empty and she had plenty of time to make us feel a little special. I’m sure that’s what they were going for, I’m not sure they achieved that. The food was exactly what we expected — that is to say chain food, done well; it’s not ever going to win awards, but it’s tasty and hot and cloned(I’m sure there is no actual cloning) from the same cow/chicken/pig etc. which means that the quality is fairly much the same across every meal they ever sell. Which is strange because you’d think with cloning(again, no cloning) and buying power they’d manage to deliver food which wasn’t STUPID priced. I’m not against paying 20 quid for a burger, but generally I’d expect that to be premium meat and cooked by a chef, not heated by chain cooks. TGIs is a decent eatery at a crazy chain price point that delivers consistently; it’s hard to fault the food or the staff, but I won’t be going back again any time soon because I know there is better out there for the money. And I’m apparently all about quality.
