Quite a nice place, good music and a attracts a good crowd. Not my favorite preference of club but I’ve visited it on many occasions on club crawls and I finally made up my mind about what it is that troubles me from really having a good time here; its over crowded. I love being part of a big crowd, when the main attraction is a DJ or a band, but in a small room where the DJ has only ever played to his relatives before, I can’t help but feel claustrophobic and a bit pointless.

I should really give Mezz five stars simply because it replaced the awful Rehab that played awful music and attracted awful people. Mezz, which was unveiled after an expensive refurbishment in the listed building it sits within, offers a much more pleasant and professional clubbing experience. The offer mainly house and electro music, and while some of the nights are fairly commercial, they often host evenings where more underground stuff is pumped out, for which they deserve a bit of respect. The refurbishment has done the place a world of good — they’ve some how managed to make what was a claustrophobic club a lot bigger inside. The best thing about Mezz, though, is the fact that they’ve created one of the best new Friday nights in town, We Play Vinyl. Check it out.
