Well, great location and views. I had to ask for my table to be polished, litter picked up under my table. The wine glass looked as if it had been cleansed with toothpaste. When requested the waitress cleaned and tidied up. Lime & chilli calamari for starter. Very bland with little seasoning. Lambs liver for main. Hot and little else. Sorry, I would not go back unless a massive clean up. The soft drink was good! I guess a great place for ramblers looking for a drink or a bite to eat when muddied up… The 3 stars was for the waitress who tried to rectify the issues… And the pint of soft drink.

This is our local(if a three mile hike in open country could be called ‘Local’ !); we even got married here a marquee in the field and free run of the pub as well. Not sure what happened but it went downhill a bit around 2009 so we stopped going however, a neighbour told us it had changed hands so we gave it another go. The new owner is lovely, he obviously wants to make a go of it as a good food/good beer pub and he is well on his way to doing it. The food has improved massively proper chips!!! Hurrah! No more frozen rubbish! Given some support, I think this lovely country pub could be back on the map. I think the new guy needs to put his own stamp on it get rid of that horrible furniture and particularly the sticky tables(not nice). Last time we were there we had the homemade steak and ale pie and it was delicious my aim is to eat my way through the menu and try everything. I do mourn the loss of the chicken curry on the menu though :-( Good luck, you deserve to succeed. 3stars for now and more when you’ve got to grips with it!

Sometimes there is nothing better than a good old English pub set out in some country. You know I’m right. Well the New Inn is such a pub. I love the ambience of this place. We’re talking roaring fire(always a plus point for me) and a good selection of drinks. Real ale kept well(not always the case) and of course other beverages if the mood takes you. The location is nice too and it’s worth a trip out especially if you fancy some lunch. As for the food, that’s a major plus. Homey and hearty food this is. The roast goes down very well indeed(although I’m sure the stomach will take a while longer, like five days). Add some friendly service and a good beer garden and I’m liking what is on offer. Perfe t place to end or stop off a walk at.

A proper country pub, the New Inn is a cosy, log-fire heated living room of a place, and it wins brownie points for catering well for families without forgetting its loyal drinkers. It’s popular in the summer, with its decent beer garden and children’s facilities, but it’s also a great spot for a chilly afternoon, when you can curl up in front of the fire with one of their many real ales and enjoy the feeling of being worlds away from the hectic city centre. The food is good too, a notch above your typical microwaved pub grub without being too pretentious, and relatively reasonably priced.

Nice pub with nice food in the middle of nowhere. Well actually it’s right over the road from one of the farms featured in Emmerdale. The staff are quite friendly and the beer is good. They also have a pool table in a seperate family room where you can sit with the kids. Children are not allowed in the main bar area so this allows the adults to have a nice quiet drink in a good pub atmosphere with the occasional chance to meet the odd member of the Emmerdale cast. They also have a massive field available to use for functions such as weddings etc.
