Thorntons

Has anyone else noticed how ruddy cold this Thornton’s always is? Anyone? It’s always flippin freezing cold everytime i go in here! Honest it is. Maybe it matches the atmosphere, cos the staff aren’t too happy to be there. Ruddy curmudgeons. Well there not all like this, but there a couple in particular, you know who you are, who’s smile making muscles just don’t seem to work.
Thorntons, gotta love it, and despite the uninspired idea of presenting someone with a gift from Thorntons or receiving one from Thorntons, the actual content, gorgeous chocolates with a rather divine selection of fillings, is well worth it in the end.
Love it in the Summer, the ice-​cream is delicious! Lemon Sorbet a personal fave!
But the reason I heart the Thornton’s; it does the best Butter Tablet I’ve ever tasted, really, I am an addict, and I have to pry myself away to the other side of the high street to stop myself going in and buying up all stocks.
There’s an array of chocolate treats to suit anyone in here, from dark, to white, to milk, to mint trays, to trays that do all of those things, trays that suit diabetics’ needs and wants, boxes and selections for those nut lovers out there, characters and boxes made from delicious chocolate that make kids go giddy, plain chocolate plaques so that you can engrave a loving or highly sarcastic message on to them in yummy icing. Which is mighty funny when presenting it as a gift. You had to be there i guess.
A good all rounder, and an excellent way to indulge in chocolate and save yourself from «oh crap I forgot» situations!

Thorntons is always one of the first stops on my list when I’m christmas shopping or looking for some chocolates to put with a present.
I LOVE the dessert gallery collection — the Crème Brulee chocolate is to die for (and the starting point for my love of the caramelly custardy goodness… yum).
I usually pop in to buy a bag of toffee chocs if I’m feeling indulgent and always get side tracked by the cute little hollow chocolate figures for children or the huge boxes of continental chocolates.
Thorntons also do really good ice cream with loads of flavours to choose from. The only thing that bugs me is that they can’t guarantee any of their chocolate is completely nut free. Being a nut allergy sufferer, this really disappoints me.
The other thing I do like, however, is that you can get anything gift wrapped and if you choose a hollow figure or a plaque, you can get any message iced on for free. Happy days!
