Went last week with my partner on the taste card offer 241 which was good value. I would not pay full price for this restaurant. We both had the all American burger which was very nice but iv had better. The chunky chips were also nice but nothing special. We had onion rings as a side but they just tasted of grease. Not happy as I loveeee onion rings and I only had 2⁄3. I like the actual restaurant and the environment but the food is just«good»

Came here for a Christmas meal …(A rowdy party of 21 a bit if a test for any restaurant)… It’s like watching a finely tuned machine at work ! Food was fantastic, atmosphere was fab ! … The waitresses very pretty too :-) Couldn’t find a joke in the cracker though … Thank God !

We love the interior of this restaurant, its stylish in a posh retro sort of way! It’s difficult to put my finger on it… Very clean, excellent list of craft beers and the food is pretty tasty too. Pure comfort eating, ribs, burgers, salads, pizza etc but served in an upmarket sort of way. We have eaten here twice over the summer and will be going back. It’s good value for money and have enjoyed eating there as a family and as a Couple.

I’ve often ended up downstairs in this place on a mad drinking bender as it facilitates you dancing round like a loon until the early hours. They should really disallow people like me from going into places like that for my own benefit. Anyway this is my food review… Anyway I was aware that it’s split into three sections a bar downstairs, the restaurant on the 1st floor and a cocktail bar called Skippys on the 2nd which is a little confusing. We went for food here whilst nursing a grumbling belly after a pondering around Headingley. I was a little reluctant with this place, I think I had the general idea that it may be over priced and not all that great. It looked pretty fancy for a spot of lunch but I thought I would give it a go. The venue is really clean and airy and there were lots of couples and friends huddled in deep conversation and laughter so it had a nice vibe. I like the fact that you can see the kitchen too with its wood burning stove. Service was a little slow and it generally is one thing that really gets my goat but on this day it seemed fair considering the strange array of items displayed on the menu. a bit of everything?! I actually liked the food here and the service was meh ok. I thought it was quite good value for money considering the fact that the place looked like quite an expensive joint(although I didn’t opt for a more expensive choice of fodder) so I was pretty pleased with the bill when it arrived some time later! I opted for a bursting calzone and lots of refreshing lovely white wine which went really well. I can’t actually remember what Jo had I think I was too engrossed in the nomming! I’ve also been to the cocktail bar which is good in one sense — They will make anything you like if you give them a list of your favourite tipples and they have a magician in there every now and then who’s pretty fab and all round great guy. Downside on this particular Saturday was that the place was pretty empty and the cocktails although on a 241 on happy hour were really blooming pricey!

I’ve walked by many times over the years. Walked by and never taken the plunge, too busy buying my fruit and veg, or simply taking an hour to enjoy world watching in the lovely Lento. Well, this time, I was verging on tea time tummy grumbles and my cohort and I decided to opt for laziness over being sensible and cooking at home. A brief glance at the menu, the promise of sliders, and I was convinced. I’d not seen any other place in Leeds offering them(although, I’ve since been told the Adelphi do!) so I was all in. The vegetarian options aren’t too bad, since the Mushroom Wellington and Indonesian curry even had me tempted momentarily, and there’s quite a mixed menu. A bit odd that there’s a range of pasta and pizza, next to a more American vibe, but I like options. Price wise you’re talking £10−25, so it’s suitable for light lunches as well as bigger dinners. The building has three floors; a cocktail lounge, restaurant and bar, and I even spotted a smokers’ terrace. The building is very smart, and feels very modern and classy, but not so exclusive that we couldn’t wander in adorned in casual attire, and with a 12 pack of loo roll just bought from the shops.(Yes, I was embarrassed, but fortunately I was with a gent who bore the shame on my behalf!) The service, although a little slow considering it was rather quiet, was extremely warm and friendly. We were given a bit of extra time to decide on things due to nattering rather than thinking about drinks, which is always nice, as I usually need time being so indecisive. In any case, our meals arrived in good time, and you get a decent view of the pizza oven burning away and the chefs whilst you wait, which is ace. The sliders were one chicken satay, one cheese and bacon, and one BBQ chicken. All three were seasoned incredibly well, being fully tasty and flavoursome — always a winner when you can see the herbs in the burgers as you eat through them! The buns were perfect, hard enough to keep the goods in, but soft enough to bite through nicely. I guess I’d say I wished all three had been a little less done. They weren’t well done or overcooked, but being American style I envisioned a beautifully juicy chicken bit and a melty pink burger. But hey, I didn’t ask, and we’re in the UK — so that’s probs down to me. Whilst the courgette chips(battered wedges of courgette) weren’t my favourite as they were a little greasy and had no crunch, the fries were some of the best I’ve had — you could still taste the potato, but they were perfectly greasy and crunchy. All in all, I’m sure I’ll be back. It’s a lovely spot for lunch/dinner, and really reasonable given the care and attention to the meals. I’m not one for Headingley drinking(unless in my fave old man style Arcadia) so I shan’t have a review for this place as a nightlife spot, but if you’re looking to try a bite in LS6 this one’s on the menu. Friendly staff, interesting menu, classy décor, and good price. Get in and have a gander!

Hey, I rolled up to Headingley(or Ed and Lee) for 6pm this past saturday, met up with friends in Arc and shot over to Trio! I’d had a bit of a crap day and needed a good laugh and catch up. So Trio was ideal. Drinks offers from 6−9pm. 241 on selected cocktails and spirit mixers also big name lagers on offer. Great efficient friendly staff, ok the lay out downstairs is a little too Up and Down, great themes playing all night and best of all heated smoking area! Win! Really good atmosphere and a top laugh had 4*‘s? YeS! As not so C.a.C after 9pm, but by that time I didn’t really care.

Trio is one of thos bars that is just oozing with cool. Not in that indie beat down but with excellent music cool, but that low level lighting, dark moody colours, leather, suede, wood meets metal kind of way. As a bar, Trio is a trendy venue to take your mates if you want to impress them with aesthetics, it’s got plenty of cocktails to satiate alcoholic appetites, get there on a Wednesday and it’s 2−4−1 which certainly helps the bank balance as it’s not cheap in here. Plus point, there’s always a good atmosphere to be had when opting for a night out on the weekends. As a restaurant, I think Trio’s food area runs under the name of Skippy’s, which is a bit confusing, as it’s under the same roof as Trio’s just up on the next level. Without taking advantage of the offers, you could get the feeling that you’re being ripped off for what you get, as the menu takes full advantage of using it’s aesthetics to pull the punters in, much like Katie Price, but with more semblance of class about it. The sandwiches are expensive, with an almost £9 price tag attached to most. I was fancying fish and chips but point blank refused to order it at £16 a portion, rubbed in thyme and sea salt or not. Instead I opted for the calzone, which sounded delicious in theory, but was a bit too much in the flavour dept, everything was competing with each other. Verdict is, better as a bar than a restaurant!

Trio is Headingley’s place to be if you want to avoid the majority of the locust-like students. This vibrant opposite Headingley Taps stocks a selection of premium lagers, blond beers and cocktails that are far better than the usual array of bilge-water and, more importantly, they’re expensive, and so priced out of student reach(although watch out for 2 for 1 cocktail Sundays — shhh.) On the flip side, depending on the time of the month, they also price me out. You win some, you lose some.

Trio is owned by the same guy that brought us the Box, Arc etc etc, and whilst I want to go into the downside of these idetical bars, all in such close proximity, I am going to hold back and speak objectively. Trio is both a restaurant upstairs, and a bar doenstairs. I’ll start with the bar. Down the stairs at the universal entrance to this and the restaurant sits Trio’s Bar. The first thing that greets you is the bar, and then the room leads you around the corner to ample seating in the way of raised booths dotted around the room: awkward for posture, but give the rooms some form of ambience all the same. The drinks are not all that cheap but pretty standard for your typical cocktail bar. the staff are friendly and occasionally they have obscure promotional offers that bizarrely might include, as it did last time I was there, a trip upstairs in the lift to an ‘unknown area’ to create some form of speak easy feel. Each to their own. The restaurant upstairs is your typical non specific restaurant in terms of nationality, pretty decent if you’re up for a 2 for 1 deal on a perfectly fine pizza, salad and a glass of wine. There is not much imagination pumped into this place, but the food isn’t bad at all and makes a welcome change to the bar food offered in other branches of this companies barpubs.

I have only ever visited Trio to have a drink with my friends and found that it was a little more expensive than other bars but had a nice setting and wide stocked bar so I’ll allow for a few extra pennies. i enjoyed the décor and ambience of the place and felt quite relaxed sat there chatting with my friends.

Trio is definitely the best of the(for want of a better word) trio of bars in Headingley which stay open once the pubs have shut. Along with The Arc and The Box, Trio is open until around 1am on weekday evenings and 2/3am on weekends. The fact that the downstairs bar is almost like a nightclub at the weekends ensures it is usually packed to the rafters, as people seeking a cheaper, more casual alternative to Leeds city centre gather to drink and dance. The classy heated smoking terrace is often the scene of some banter/drama and for those seeking a chat the top floor is quieter and has extremely comfortable furniture. Trio’s other major attraction is its food, which is served daily at reasonable prices in a relaxed restaurant-esque atmosphere. I recommend the Swordfish.

A fabulous place for dancing, but be sure to meet your mates outside, as the phone reception in here can be pretty bad. It gets busy quickly and has a nice mixture of students, locals and older people too. Indie and Rock music played on Saturday nights and open till 2am in the morning. It’s well worth a visit, though expect to pay close to club prices for drinks.

I’ve never eaten here, but have spent many a drunken evening in the bar. I liked it when you could write on the fuzzy wall at the back, that was cool. Now though I like it when I get one of those high up table booth thingies, which isn’t very often because it’s usually rammed. Nice bar staff, reasonably priced drinks(actually, that’s a lie, I just don’t want to sound like I’m tight, which I am, so they’re expensive-ish and if I’m in a round you’d better not order a fruli or a glass of wine or a vodka tonic, in fact, you’d better be on soda water), and nice toilets. Plus it’s not far from home and the beer scooter gets me back nicely. _______ I’ve now eaten at Trio! Stop the press! How tasty?! Very! It was my birthday yesterday and as it was a schoolnight I didn’t fancy venturing too far afield, and this was priced in the ‘a little bit posh and fancy’ bracket, so we came here. Although we didn’t book, and there was a large party in, we got a table easily, right by the window. I had the asparagus and proscuitto to start(nomnom), followed by the crab and prawn risotto, and, as it was my birthday, the baked cheesecake and a coffee. The house red was a very pleasant shiraz, and the whole thing came to about £55 plus tip. Well worth it, and we’ll defo be coming back!

Trio’s serves the most amazing food! The Thai Sweet Chilli Chicken and the burgers are out of this world! They also serve this really nice bottled beer called Modelo which I have failed to find anywhere else! The drinks are reasonable and it is always busy in the evenings and over the weekend.

I like it here, if you are just out for a meal there is an extensive reasonably priced restaurant upstairs, quick service, reasonable prices, after the food if you like to dance and drink good spirits and cocktails go downstairs. Small but cool! Lovely seating and dance area, open late playing music from jazz, r n b and house. A great venue in Headingley

I must admit this is a great place to go on any night of the week. The music is fantastic ranges from all the most recent to old school tunes that everyu one can enjoy. It is an ideal place to go and chillout and have a few beers after a hard days graft or a break from the studies. The food upstairs is great, nice varied menu at a resaonable price that evryone can enjoy. Ideal to take a girl to or just you and your mates wanna eat out great place to choose. There is also an upstairs bar which is great to chill out, the music isnt as loud up there so if you want somewhere to chat and be a bit quieter then you have your option.
