One of the cluster of pizza places on this corner of Kirkstall Road is Venice Pizza, a place with a name that suggests Italian authenticity. Don’t believe the sign folks — this is no nearer to a real pizza parlour than any of the takeaways on this street that call themselves pizza places but really merely have pizza as an option amongst all the burgers and curries. The pizzas here are, because of this, nothing more than your average takeaway pizza — big, greasy, sloppy cheese but pretty tasty all the while, and the prices are fairly cheap, the service is pretty slow. Is Venice even famous for its pizzas? I always thought it was Naples.
