The guys that work here are brilliant and professional offering excellent service however they are so well respected that the shop can be backed up for a week for most repairs be sure to ask how long it will take

A friendly, independent cycling shop which seems well tuned into the locality and cycling fan boys and girls across the city. Specialist shops like this are always going to cost a bit to shop in, but I was pleasantly surprised to get a decent bike in the for about £200. The staff initially appear to be reassuringly knowledgeable, capable and friendly. However, every time I have been in there I have ended up with the same member of staff dealing with me. He appears to be unable to set my gears up right and when I took my bike in for a service and mentioned that they were not right he some how managed to make them worse. I was surprised by this. But they do seem quite busy which might have been the problem? What should be an excellent shop has been marred by of incidents of ineptness; perhaps I just got unlucky?

Woodrup is a trusty local independent bike shop with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. They are always eager to give advice but equally happy to let you browse if you’d prefer. They are well-stocked with high quality cycling equipment and have a broad range of products for all kinds of cyclists and price-ranges. The shop is a good size and neatly stocked with a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. They also do a wide range of repair services and the quality of their work can be evidenced by the fact that they also service the bikes of local police and paramedics! I recently bought a bike lock there and they were happy to give honest advice on the quality versus price dilemma, making me feel confident that I’d made the best choice for my budget.

Cycling is a popular way to get around in Leeds, and it’s comforting to see so many independent bike shops like Woodrup’s remaining popular in the face of fierce competitions from internet vendors and chain stores. They do so by providing the personal touch, and Woodrup’s is no exception with its friendly, knowledgeable staff, frequent special offers and work in the community. Woodrup’s don’t just sell bikes, they are active advocates for cycling as a whole, supporting local schemes to get more people riding and publicising organised rides. And as they obviously care so much about bikes, the selection they offer is focused on quality and durability from recognised brands, rather than the cheapest way to get from A to B. On top of all this, they also offer a huge range of repair and maintenance services, and even build speciality wheels to meet your requirements — you won’t get that in Halford’s.
