If any night was going to be a good night in Yates, it was the night of their refurb party. I very rarely go to Yates and sadly the refurb hasn’t changed my opinion of it. Yes, it’s cleaner and fresher, but other than that it seems like the same old bar, complete with too loud pop music and an annoying DJ (is this a pub or a school disco?!).
On the plus side — the drinks are relatively cheap. However, this means that if you stay too long everybody is stupidly, and often not happily, drunk.
I do have to say that the bar staff were very friendly and helpful (they quickly cleaned up the drink I accidentally knocked over!), however this is not enough to make me rush back.

That my friends is Yates Leeds. The worst place you can visit. Yates is like a magic teleporting device which sends people directly to some chavvy meatmarket hole in Barnsley. Yeah, that’s what Yates is… a Barnsley themed bar.

This place has a massive area outside for drinking and smoking, which is pretty nice in summer, but other than that not much else I can say nice about the place. This place was absolutely rammed with chavs and people I wouldn’t want to say hi to. The place just feels dirty. Last time I tried to get in the bouncer wouldn’t even let me in because they wanted more ‘girls’ in.
Thats what this place is a meatmarket.

My first visit there and it definately wont be my last. The staff were very friendly, service was very good, the price of a beer was very good and there were several screens showing SKY Sports News, so that kept happy for a short while. This is one pub I shall definately be visiting when I am next in Leeds!

I came in here with a group of friends who had visited around three months ago and I must say, I was not impressed. The place is prtty big with a large, well stocked bar. Booths to sit in, tables and a small dancefloor. The venue looks like it’s in need of a good paint and the customers… well…there was a lot to be desired.
I was really disappointed by the whole place and my friends said it had really gone downhill since they’d visited too. The plus side? Cheaper drinks.
