After long journeys home, one doesn’t want to cook for oneself. Certainly, not after getting in super late and having nothing in to eat at all! And so, once again, I found myself calling on Just Eat to see what bounty I may get delivered to my house, and shortly there after, my mouth. That would be the next thing — a Wallace & Gromit style contraption to bring the food right to me without having to move. Perhaps a bad idea. Yum Yum’s menu seemed solid for what we all desired. I had my usual — not the best for judging a Chinese take away, but a staple on every menu, nonetheless. Special curry, special fried rice, and chips. I have to say, no special fried rice will compare to the last place I ordered from, and although Yum Yum’s was up there in the high marks, it wasn’t quite the same. However, the curry sauce was thick, full of flavour, and seasoned well — not watery, so you know they don’t scrimp on flavour. The rice came with sauce of its own — only the second place that’s done this — and I really liked that. The chips were ace. You know — the usual, guilty pleasure, thick but crispy Chinese takeaway chips. These are my favourite. My friend wasn’t as impressed with her crispy shredded chicken, however, this may be due to the fact she’s from Newcastle and the must make a ridiculously good version up there.(She never seems to find the sweet spot in Leeds.) All in all, I would order again. Solid and tasty.
