What can I say. It’s in a great spot and perfect pit stop –mid shop haha it’s an Italian restaurant with a modern twist. We went in on a Saturday and decided to grab some brunch. I’d been in here before with a friend for lunch and we really enjoyed with a mix of 3 tapas and a salad to share.
But on this occasion it was myself and my boyfriend.
I got a nice cup of tea to start me off for the shopping ahead. I lived the see through cup it came it. Quite cool.
I also ordered well we both did the eggs Benedict. Yum! Toasted Italian bread, ham and poached eggs with hollindase sauce. It was delicious. My only gripe is it’s a very small portion and not enough to fill you for long. But it certainly did me for a few hours. Himself well he picked up a currywurst down the road 2 hours after lol
But we thoroughly enjoyed the taste just wanted more. The price was OK. But again expected more for the price. I think it was 9pound. Or so
Great spot for brunch but order more.

A lovely gourmet shop with café/​restaurant. Their coffee is superb as is their service. Their mains are wonderful and reasonably priced. A great place to go!

Part of the Carluccios chain, it’s great to see more al fresco dining in Leicester. You’ll find Carluccios outside in the Highcross and you’ll be spoilt for choice on the menu. High-​end Italian dining or an espresso and a biscotti, Carluccios will welcome you. It might also be a great first date place, although beware you would have set your standards pretty high!

If you’re in Leicester and you want a good meal, then come here. Seriously. The food is divine — I had the pork wrapped in parma ham and cooked in white wine for my main course, and the pancake and ice cream for dessert. Both are among the best main courses/​desserts I’ve ever had. Our waitress was lovely too.

My first experience of a Carluccios and it was only OK.
Good olives and bread. For main, I ordered spaghetti alla vongole: the pasta itself had a good firm bite, the clams were tasty (if a bit sparse) but there was too much coarsely chopped chilli and huge lumps of almost raw garlic and yet it still managed to be slightly bland and watery.
An almondy chocolate fondant for dessert was devine.

Restaurant is okay. Like a café diner. Staff very inexperienced. Food mediocre. Seems like a very small restaurant for this area? Half of it is devoted to the store which is very nice and has a lot of the italian basics. Pricy

Carluccios is very much like a old Italian restraint with a modern twist in the Highcross.
Lots of great pasta and rice dishes to chose from as well as salads, breads and starters on the menu and enough veggie choices if needed. They do a very good breakfast and brunch menu too proving this is a place to meet family and friends anytime of the day.
Good fresh coffee makes it a good alterative to a coffee shop, it has a great buzie atmosphere and is very child friendly.
