Cooks have started to pop up all over the South East, offering a more upmarket take on ‘ready meals’. I don’t really like the one in Brighton, particularly the sign that says«homemade tasting food» which leaves me to wonder where the food is made. None the less, hungry and lost, I stumbled in to this Cook. I actually was delighted by what I found. They sell a host of nice looking meals, all of which can easily be readied for anybody not keen on cooking. I myself picked up one of their curry dishes, a speciality here apparently. It cost me about £4, which isn’t great, but it is less than a takeaway would be, while still being a little bit healthy(little bit). The curry was pretty good, no better than you might make at home, but it certainly was less effort.

Looking for something to eat in Lewes, I came across COOK and making the natural presumption thought I could get something from here. Perusing the shop I was troubled by the lack of 7⁄11 styled microwaves that would surely be hidden in some corner to heat this food. Rather than ask, I continued with curiosity until I came across The COOK Book. A novel yet rustic idea, COOK create homemade food to take back with you-like a caring mother. Although it is fundamentally froze food, just take a look in The COOK Book to see the vast differences. All of the vegetarian meals and side dishes are kept relatively cheap, the meat dishes are naturally more expensive but a Chilli Con Carne for £3.25 is similar to supermarket prices-and you have made by kind hands rather than clinical claws.
