The Winehouse is my favourite restaurant in Lichfield partly as they are good at catering for a pescetarian. I recently tried the a la carte menu. However, I have previously tried the taster menu although this takes a while but it’s well worth it! It has a calm atmosphere and you definitely don’t feel rushed so you can focus on your food and having a chat which will probably be about your food. The service is good without being intrusive. I’m not usually a big fan of starters but the scallops I enjoyed were pretty amazing. They were big which is a good start as I usually find myself wistfully thinking of Australian sized scallops. Plus they were perfectly cooked and came with a tea broth that was poured from a teapot. My partner’s soup which included chard and kale was good too and a lot better than something I initially described as ‘lettuce soup’! The main course and dessert were equally good and the peppermint sponge came with tea to match. I would definitely recommend a visit and it’s certainly a good place to visit on a special occasion!
