I have just left the bistro on new years day having add another great evening meal we had a table for 8 people and again nothing was to much trouble for Caroline to make sure we had a great night. Its a bit sad when I read some of the comments from I’m sure people who are only out to upset two young peoplewho are trying very hard to run a buisness in theese difficult times. Perhaps when the new development opens beals should open a fish a chips shop this may attract some more idious comments .We should support every buiness around burton waters the shop hairdresers. I also have a property on burton waters and have supported the old yots Keith and di .and will give my support to the bistro. Good luck caroline keep up the good work all from 140. Ps I also bought some cakes so perhaps the person who couldn’t see the pumps before can see them now.

A beautiful location(Burton Waters) spoiled by this over-priced, pretty clueless amateur set-up. Makes no connection with its setting — an attractive marina — in fact turns its back on it, an almost willful approach to denying its greatest asset. Claims to specialise in(ludicrously overpriced) locally sourced ingredients. In practice this means pork and cheese. Chef likes baking so there are cakes everywhere — including lining the bar so you can’t see the pumps! Bar even has a settee placed directly in front of it — never seen anything like it. No menu written on a blackboard over the kitchen viewing hatch, instead you are treated to a humourless, sexist comment, childishly written on the blackboard but compensated by the sight of the chef knocking back the booze whilst he works! The food and service are the worst(at this price) I’ve ever experienced. Fillet steak at £22(«is it from Lincolnshire?» «no but the butcher we use has a shop in Lincoln»), with a tasty cheesy mushroom, a handful of mixed salad leaves and some chips which the waitress proudly announced as being“just like MacDonalds!” I kid you not.(Lincolnshire’s most prolific and famous local food is its potatoes). Very slow service, constantly and rudely interrupted during our meal by a waitress(the owner?) yacking on about themselves and completely unaware of customer experience. Haven’t got a clue where this place is going or what it is trying to be. There’s a small stall which sells local cheese, meat(most of which you can get in local supermatkets) but this does not a deli make.
