This place was fantastically busy when I was there but I find it hard to see why. Yes they do a 6030 cm pizza but huge size can’t make up for mediocre food. There are no menus on the wall when you walk in, just some illuminated images of the meal-deals. I managed to find a paper copy but with the shear number of dishes(all variations on one of five themes) squeezed onto the page made reading it feel like deciphering the assembly instructions for an aircraft carrier. The various components for the different meals are laid out in chiller cabinets surrounding the customer waiting area. All well and good I thought, looks very hygienic I thought; until I saw staff handling uncooked meat and then preparing vegetables without washing their hands first. The staff were neither rude nor unpleasant but they did give out the vibe that customers were all that stood between them and productivity. I had a kebab, my other half had a pizza. The pizza may as well have been deep fried there was so much grease and apart from the naan bread and chilli sauce I don’t really have anything positive to say about the kebab; the salad was inedible, the meat just tasted wrong. I’m also not sure why the chicken kebab came wrapped in donner meat; I wasn’t expecting it and wasn’t asked whether I wanted it or not. I’m sure this isn’t the worst kebab/pizza/burger/curry house in the area, as I said at the beginning it appears very, very popular, but there are better takeaways in Linlithgow. Edit: On a subsequent visit(chips I thought, they’ll be OK) I saw them using clearly marked Veg Only kit to prepare meet. So two Stars down to one it is :-(
