And now to another of my fashion faves. Okay, I know that the clothes don’t necessarily last a long time, they don’t wash well and can lose their shape rather quickly for something you’re paying so much for, but I’m totally drawn in by the con. I can’t help it — I do love All Saints. Those structured, layered dresses, those maxis that look so much cooler than all the paisley ones ladies seem to be wandering round in these days, the jackets that are nothing but strictly ornamental and boots that manage to be masculine and feminine at the same time… it’s all here, and it’s all stunning. This particular branch has an excellent menswear department with many different vests, and the sales are nothing short of fantastic. I admire All Saints for its quirky design, really not many people can carry it off but it doesn’t mean they don’t try, and quite frankly I disagree with the idea that everything in the store only suits the long and lean. Different sets offer qualities for different figures, and All Saints has a knack for celebrating this. I’m truly a sucker for it. Just… go in sale period, save yourself from constant sharp intakes of breath.

All Saints is the kind of store which you associate with high fashion and upmarket shopping and as such it is very much at home in the plush surroundings of Liverpool One. I have never been a fan of this establishment and this branch in particular really manages to get my goat as there is an unashamed arrogance about the place which really does not sit well with me. The staff in this establishment seem to think an awful lot of themselves and as such look down on the customers somewhat rather than being attentive and helpful as they should be. I just found this branch in particular to be extremely pretentious and it did not make for a comfortable atmosphere in which shop which was a shame as some of the stock was obviously of a high quality.

All Saints clothes shop in Liverpool One has a wooden cabin theme to it which often makes customers curious to walk in and find out what the shop is all about. So, that is indeed what I did and I found the experience to be a bit gloomy and dull. Most clothes are dark in nature and had a rugged texture to them, as though they were already worn. There is a men’s section upstairs which sells quite similar clothing but again feels quite dismal and the price tags moderately high. However, if you’re the type to go for clothes with a frilly, dull and/or worn out look then All Saints might be the shop for you. For me, it just isn’t my style.

Still one of the best men’s clothes shops in the city, shopping at All Saints does not come cheaply though. This is the rock to American Apparel’s bubblegum pop if you like were you will find all things dark and broody on the grey to black scale of shades. The style is very sort of post grunge as items are ripped or scruffy but done so deliberately. The T shirts are great because they feel like they hhave already been worn in for you — I wouldn’t think about that too much, I don’t like the idea of spending £40 on something that’s already been worn around someone’s house. Skulls and tattoo culture play a big part in the look for All Saints but they also do a range of tailoring so you can even look good in work — maybe not in the massive hunting boots though.

If you love black, grey, white or cream clothes, this branch of All Saints will blow your mind. Located in the new Liverpool ONE complex, it’s a giant store with floor to ceiling vintage sewing machines in the window and a special section for boots, shoes, hi-tops and accessories. As for the clothes, we’re talking beautifully tailored leather jackets, trench-coats, shirts, cropped trousers, jean leggings, embellished tees, jersey sweaters, dresses, skirts and shorts. Prices are high compared to other stores but it doesn’t take a genius to work out that the company must pay a fortune designing and decorating each outlet with fab vintage cabinets, unique signs and quirky dressing rooms. A must for gothically-minded girls and boys, especially those with big wallets!

I have visited this branch after being a long term fan of the brand and having been to the other Liverpool branch of All Saints, which is situated in the Met Quarter shopping centre. The staff are all immaculate and trendy and look brilliant in their uniforms of the store’s clothing range, and they’re also helpful and sartorially wise and experienced. The prices for items are high, but they are of excellent quality and are quirky and eye catching so not many other people are likely to be wearing the same thing as you and they will last for ages. They start from a size 6 and they also sell jewellery. the redunds policy is one which does not allow cash refunds to be given, only exchanges so be aware of this before making any purchases. The sales can be good if you can hold your nerve; I was stalking a gorgeous jacket for months and was delighted when it went down from £90 to £63. Small sizes sell fastest of course, as they are pretty generously cut so you may also find you need to go down a size.
