Café Continental(previously called De Café) is situated near Lark Lane and a couple of doors from the local Tesco. The advertising in the windows for cheap meals tempts you in to find out more. The first thing you notice is that the café is quite long and narrow and it takes what feels like an age to get to the counter and the greasy spoon style handwritten chalk board menus. The food here is simple. They offer a range of breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, snacks and homely meals for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. There are also option for children as well as adults. The service is friendly and quick when the café isn’t too busy. When it is packed full of customers you have to wait a bit longer but this is understandable wherever you go. There is ample seating at the café at large tables or at the window on a bar stool. They also have a few tables outside for when the weather is nice. As well as eating in the café offers take away and they also advertise the option of catering for functions. The food comes in generous portions and is mostly well cooked. If you have an issue with the food, for example an undercooked egg like I did, the staff are very apologetic and rectify it as quickly as possible. The café offers good value for money and decent food with no fuss or frills. I definitely recommend it for a life saving hangover fry up
