When Cobo first opened it was an unusual sight on Aigburth Rd, not becuase it was a restaurant — although they are not that common along this stretch of suburban rd — nor becuase it was a chinese take away as there is the fair share of Chinese chippies along here but because it was a stylish and elegant looking establishment which is not something that most people are used to with regard Liverpool’s Chinese reataurants. The food matches the environment too as you appreciate the quality of the food when you can enjoy it without the usual Friday and Saturday night rabble grabbing a quick bite to soak up the booze.

Sharp minimalistic black & white décor, pleasant attractive staff, good food but the whole evening dominated by the phone ringing for take-away orders and a constant stream of punters arriving to collect their meals. We waited an age for our meals to arrive, the table of four seated next to us waited even longer as preference was obviously being given to ‘Cobo’s’ take-away customers! There’ s no atmosphere in the place whatsoever! Sorry ‘Cobo’ your prices don’t justify sitting in a glorified take-away on Aigburth Rd!!!
